I play it on seriesX...sure, I see the tearing sometimes, but imo it's not such a big issue as you say

  • @jariofrivia yes same here Screen Tearing on Xbox Series X is horrible 😔

  • Yeah screen tearing is sometimes bad on the Series x for whatever reason. The only thing which helps at the moment to get rid of it, is using "varriable refresh rate" aka "freesync" on your Xbox. The only problem is, in order to use VRR, is that you either need a Monitor or a TV which Supports VRR. On Tvs atleast the support for VRR really started to get more common since 2019 Models of certain brands, but most of the time in the upper Price segment, talking round about 1000€+

  • @schwammlgott do you play the storyline with Jack Sparrow? There is massive tearing. That doesn‘t make fun.

Not more than in the regular game

  • Same here, lot of tearing on series x. Very often, the game looks great and all the 10 second tearing burn the eyes. It's so disappointing.

In tutorial, and in the jungle particularly

I hoped that's going to be fixed on the most powerful console..... With a series x optimised game.... ☺️

  • Can you enable vsync in game or change your refresh rate on your monitor?

  • Yo también tengo tearing en el juego. Tengo series x y un monitor freesync 75hz 1440p.

Es el único juego donde tengo tearing, da igual si tienes vrr o freesync, el juego seguirá teniendo tearing.

  • @personalc0ffee i dont have a tv with vrr but having a ps5 and played tons of games and never seem tearing and booting up the frist game on my first series x and having this is kinda eh and it's not even in the devs KNOWN ISSUES lol even fortnite for example whem you're in the party menu when you change menus and go back to it you can see the character loading textutes which doesn't happen on ps5 but apart from what i tested so far xbox is been better. Am still a bit confused with the menus and having batteries 😭

  • The screen tearing on Series X is absolutely terrible right now. Wasn't a problem at all before the most recent update for me.

  • it's been going on for too long. how this problem has not yet been solved? Rare plan to do something someday or not?

  • Just echoing what others have said here - the tearing is excessive and enough for me not to give the game a shot atm. I'm used to tearing - PC gamer for years before freesync/gsync were a thing - and this is the worst i've seen. In fact it's the first time tearing has been bad enough for a game to get an immediate 'nope'. It's also the only tearing i've seen on the Series X since launch and after playing a whole shed load of Gamepass games.

There's four of us waiting to give Sea of Theives a go if/once this gets fixed.

  • my friend bought the Series X last week he really wanted to play Sea of Thieves, but the screen tearing are so numerous that he is disappointed.

  • Yeah my crew stopped playing the new tall tales because the screen tearing makes my brother ill.

Embarrasing for a first party game thats advertised as better on series X.

  • I wonder if Rare staff read the forum. not an official word from them when many of us complain.

  • @jariofrivia Screen tearing is not a software issue (per se), it's a hardware issue that is caused by frame rendering not matching the monitors refresh rate. To mitigate screen tearing you need to manage your FPS through graphical settings. Try limiting your hardware to 60 to 100 FPS; the Series X is going to have a hard time running 120 FPS consistently. These issues need to be addressed with Microsoft or your monitor manufacturer, not Rare...

  • Tried the game for the first time in months and the screen tearing on my series x is super distracting. Wish my garbage Visio tv had VRR but it doesn’t and the game looks horrible as a result.
