If you block with your sword while climbing out of water on a ladder the splash sound file does not play.
Can we patch this out? I feel like I'm supposed to be able to listen for the ladders.

Honestly there is a lot of stuff that feels more important first. Super bucket, quick swap, and sword bugs with blocking and “who hit first” stun bug just to name a few.
Whats the bucket thing you are talking about?
Is that bucketing and throwing it on your own face without throwing it overboard?
To me, having some programmer experience, it seems like a short job to send a developer over to the ladder code to spaghetti something in there to make sure the sound file plays for every one correctly. Though, it's just speculation having never seen their code.

@kommodoreyenser If you think quick-swap is an issue you might want to get checked for [Mod Edit]. The pvp mechanics & community died after all the changes. (Hit-reg, wallbangs removed, timer for weapon swap, ban waves.) And you want one of the 2 things keeping pvp alive removed?

If the PvP community is dead then it should be no problem?
Or are you over exaggerating because you don't have a counterpoint to being able to shoot about .3 sec quicker being an advantage, keeping your ship from sinking solo even though it has the max number of tier 3 holes upends the whole ship balancing, or how buggy the sword is right now?

I agree about that but I think if a solution were to be found, they would have done so after two years. At this point I think their efforts are just going towards keeping it from getting worse. My bet, it is a combo of some issues in the root coding of the system combined with servers struggling to keep up with all the points to track that this game has. I’m sure one server uses a bunch of compute power and ram to match. I am not familiar with MS’s cloud architecture nor how much they allocate to Rare but if it doesn’t auto scale in a timely manner to whatever is needed, I imagine it’s part of the problem.

I like this idea! the pistol at least!
I've used stealth boarding constantly, and it's still not full proof - there is still a splash sound, and many experienced pirates will still spot you (or your mermaid) before you ever even get to the ladder.
