How many Chest of Rage to nullify the Chest of Sorrows?

  • If you splash the Chest of Rage is simmers down, does the same physics work if you have water on your deck? Will it steam it away? Or is it as long as there is water on it enough to reach a specific point the chest will stay neutral?

If it does evaporate the water over time, how many chests of rage would it take to nullify a chest of sorrow?

The chest of rage does not "boil off" the water. No amounts of either chest will cause a cancelling effect that you are looking for.

Water will keep the chest of rage from exploding in fire but most just stick it on the bow and hit the bow with a bucket once it explodes in fire.

The chest of sorrows can be kept from filling up your ship by hanging on the lowest point of your ladders with the chest in hand. The other option is to have a crew mate "tow" it behind you in a harpoon rowboat.

  • Transporting the chest of rage:

Throw ~5 bucketfuls of water (from the ocean, not your water barrel) onto your ship.* Now place the chest of rage on the bottom deck in the standing water. The chest will not explode as long as it stays in the water.

*You can do the same prep for plant cargo, and as long as they stay in the standing water, they'll never wilt.
