Sea of thieves- Unreal Engine 5

    Hi, is it possible for Sea Of Thieves migrate to the new version of unreal engine? (5)
    I think it would be a very good decision.

    These sort of decisions will have to take into account that a lot of players still play on Xbox one. Would be nice for some of us but you have to think of these players too and the older consoles struggle sometimes as it is. Still looks really good to me with sliders to the right.

    I’ve got to imagine that’s a “Sea of Thieves 2” kind of decision.
    And I am here for it.
    Destiny 2 has somehow become massively successful, why not a second stunning Sea for us!

    From what I’ve heard Unreal 5 was built with tools to help developers transfer their games. Not saying that makes it easy or even possible for this game but I would hope it is an option that would add increased performance or opportunities for content.

    it might still be possible for xbox one to run games that use unreal engine 5, just with a lot of the more demanding features removed, or at least that's what i've taken from their explanation. the game might look exactly the same as it does now if they didn't add anything extra to it, although the potential is certainly interesting.

    @l-snapper-l Rare would just turn rtx off on Xbox one. Same goes for cheaper computers

    Would be awesome I am on Pc and would love to see some ray tracing yet 90% of my friends are on Xbox One.

    Regarding that thing about older consoles: UE5 seems to run much smoother than UE4 given what it can do. So it sounds reasonable that porting SoT to UE5 without adding all the crazy stuff like Nanite and Lumen would make the game actually perform better on older hardware.
