Mini World Events

  • There are lots of islands with really cool places and caves mostly used for tall tale voyages, maybe a random couple of isles could be filled with skelletons protecting an special item or making a small ritual. that gives you more reasons to explore every part of the isle and also gives the feel of a more dynamic world.

Maybe encountering skellies in different suspicious situations that if you wait for full animation it opens a secret hatch or cave.

Create events that triggers when you reach to a specific zone, that would be different and new in comparison to other activies you can do in the game, world events appear in clouds and you know what is going to happen, with voyages you get the name of the island and the mission type, there is nothing to get surprised about besides skelly kegs of couse. but if you could have the chance to step into ramdom special mini events with cool loot by just exploring the game it would be just lovely.

  • @skyw4rp8321 they used to do things like this in the monthly updates 2+ years ago. They moved away from that as it took a decent amount of Dev resources and the exclusive cosmetics made too many players upset when they weren't able to have enough time that month to complete the special events.

  • Yes. Good idea. No visible markers in the sky that these events are happening, you have to discover them organically

Also with these smaller localised events you could share intel with other friendly crews if you're too busy/lazy to do the event yourself

"There is a skelly summoning ritual happening on Cannon Cove if you guys are interested"

That could also lead to traps and ambushes you could do!

  • Imagine pulling up to thieves haven't and finding like 5 mini events

  • @alphawolf123905 haven

  • @paparug420

    this is excellent!

  • @skyw4rp8321 I agree, this is a great idea. It could be as simple as skeletons digging up treasure and talking amongst themselves (like on the Briggsy Tall Tale). You could either sabotage their dig and take it for yourself, or sneak past and continue on your mission.

Small staged events that tempt you to stop what you're doing and investigate. We have these at sea—shipwrecks, flotsam, skellie ships—it would breathe a ton of life into the game to add these on islands.

  • I like this idea - it reminds me of stumbling upon the group of skellies around a campfire during the TTs. More random things like that would be really cool.

  • It'd be cool if the incentive for these was more than just treasure. Like a full supply crate, or a chest with CCBs. Just thinking that out on the seas resupplying is often a bigger draw to stop what you're doing than rando treasure.

Stumble upon 2 skellies carrying a supply crate, treasure chest, or frightened animal? Maybe you could catch them in the act of digging something up (or burying it)? Yes please! 😁

  • Great idea. I would really like this. Any excuse to wander a little more around this pretty world, and another way to raise my emissary ledger if I don’t feel like committing to a voyage.

  • Having random NPC interaction on islands e.g. random trade propositions or protecting them from skeletons for a gold reward would be very cool.

  • I'm absolutely in favor of Rare expanding the roster of more minor emergent events. The game desperately needs more reasons for people to just sail and explore outside of voyages and the now-constant major events.

More non advertised events would be cool for when you are solo and just stumble upon them, I especially like the idea of creeping up on a bunch of skellies doing weird stuff and working out what they're up to..

Would give our anti-PvP friends more of a chance of getting through a session unscathed maybe as a bonus!

  • A good idea for Sea of Thieves 2. Not so sure the current game could support this.

  • The opening-posts like ratio gives me hope for this community.
Whats going on? Have all the fun people returned? ;)
    Don't go away again please.

On what grounds do you base this opinion? These mini-events would be well within existing, established behavior, such as skeletons crouching around a campfire in one of the early Tall Tales.

This is not the kind of game that dies off and gets a sequel. This is the kind of game that evolves and lives on FOREVA!

  • @skyw4rp8321 I love this idea!!! Some Skelly rituals only happen on nights with the full moon, or on an island with a storm. You could even do this with random sunken ships, have a sunken ship guarded by a ton of angry sharks and have a nice chest in it or half a dozen mermaid gems.

Ohhh. A skellie salvage crew diving down into a sunken shipwreck is very cool.

It would really bring the world to life to catch skeletons gathering loot, transporting CCBs to ships, plotting evil plans. Much more interesting than just skellies popping up out of the sand.

for sure! It is easy to see this game going for a long time if they keep adding great story items and other content. This game could go on for a long long time! (at least I hope it does!)
