(May 15th, 2021) Since the newest update, I find myself frequently facing the infinite black screen bug (doesn't matter the means of getting the blackscreen--have got it through both phasing through a rock and also from mermaiding). The only way to fix it is restarting my game and hoping to get back in the same server, and also hoping to not get sunk. As a frequent solo player, this is extremely frustrating as it usually ends up being a loss of huge progress! Any one else experiencing this or have solutions to prevent it from happening?
Infinite Black Screen Bug (Xbox One)
Has often happened for many on Xbox consoles. Worst with the Xbox one.. Bit less frequent with the One S, And sometimes just as bad with the One X. (Played SOT on all 3 of them, and continue to play with crewmates on each)
As more is added to the game, all 3 of the last gen consoles will just continue to suffer from black screening more and more. Some updates effect this more than others.
I'm not hearing this issue anymore from players lucky enough to be playing on the Series S & X.
I honestly don't see your problem improving, as more and more is added to the game, the older consoles will just continue to struggle more and more.
I lag worst of all when i'm sailing the seas with all players.. I find the lag and black screens much less when opting out of crossplay and only sailing the seas with other players on Xbox.
@needsmokes Sorry to say but your theory is wrong. I play SoT on an Xbox series s and I've encountered the infinite black screen ALOT.
