It seems like the FOTD is completely dead ever since the FOF has been added. As a PvP player, the FOTD is some of the most fun a person like me can have in this game. But nobody does it now, I used to find a FOTD about once a week and now i have not found a single one in almost a month. FOF either needs a nerf or the FOTD needs a buff. Also bring back Fort Night Fridays. I have no idea who thought it was a good idea to remove that.

Pff why should I do any forts and lose time by getting annoyed and poked on by people like you if I can just do nice and easy emissary missions for higher profit in the meantime instead? You have better luck spotting me there again when I have a full crew of discord friends or simply feel like I need to do the forts for commendations/event progress.
Not that I care much to lose my loot then when the only requirement for some time-limited stuff is literally just opening the vault door for example.So there's one problem.

Put up a Reaper emissary and chain some FotDs. By the time you reach grade 5, you will certainly have some fights over a FotD.
The reasons you aren’t finding many naturally is because most crews are solo/duo and there are safer ways to make that gold amount, and alliance servers still chain these in relative safety and seeing as how there are over 30k active alliance server players, chances are you are missing out on those as well.

FotD is still better than the FoF because you can stack it to make more money. The problem is the fact that the FotD is so symbolic with tuccers that a PvE ship doesn't want to take the 1 hour to get all the lights and ritual skulls, just to have to find 2 boats with tuccers trying to steal it. It's much quicker and easier to just do 1 FoF instead of 1 FotD. I have had lots of luck finding FotD's, now I usually play in the morning and late at night, so it might be different for you. But at least for me I don't think there's been that big of a difference with FotD spawns.

Lol, but the ritual skull is actually the quickest. You pick it up at outposts. xDThe longest time spent is getting all the different flames for me and my crew.
Even that is super easy:
One island with snakes gets you all but the white and pink lights. Die to a snake, a shark, a skelly, and firebomb yourself all in the same location.
Sometimes the storm might be far off so that may take 5-10 minutes to sail there. Same thing for finding another crew to kill you.
@kaijoi FoF gets you to grade 5 and has more loot. You can server hop for 5-10 minutes to find one. Usually someone else already has it mostly completed.
I do believe there should be a mechanic that lights one random light on the statues every hour until they are all lit.
Since FoF is a world event I think this is reasonable

That just removes the interesting part of FotD. Doing that would actually make it just a worse FoF. In a game that has player freedom and interaction at its core, FotD is the only major event that is entirely player driven. Player actions decide when it happens, how it happens, and what the outcome will be. If all you are worried about is grinding out gold/rep, then yes, FoF hopping is more efficient. The server you join that its up on could be empty, or no one goes to it, etc. FotD is special though, there is always going to be at least one other crew involved. Is gold payday a little lower, sure. But it is way more fun.
In strictly gold/rep grinder terms, other posts have brought up the repeatability of it. What I think is way underrated about FotD is the fact that much of its loot is an abundance of rubies which can be sold to any non-legend faction (read: Hunters Call)
