FOV Slider and Anti-Aliasing

  • I suggest increasing the FOV slider to 120 to suit ultrawide monitors. Anti-Aliasing should also be implemented since it's a fundamental graphics setting in most, if not all games. The ability to turn it on and off, or choose types of anti-aliasing is definitely needed, as it suits multiple playstyles such as:

    1. For the people that want to enjoy the game, relax and feel immersed.
    2. For the people who are more competitive.

In my opinion, the priorly discussed mechanics are the only ones that make the game incomplete. There are other problems with the game, yes, however, these are fundamental and basic mechanics that should be implemented.

  • @mrbadabing I think this post is different enough 🤷‍♂️

  • @l-snapper-l

They are all the same lol, he is suggesting in #2 for being Competitive.

Obviously you and I know we BOTH are as Competitive as they come and we don't need 120. I understand why people are complaining for having 120 which does give an advantage, but if you are sweats like us, we don't need this junk lol

  • @mrbadabing yup 😂 I just wish they added 100 in game so everyone can stop worrying about it

  • @l-snapper-l

I am perfectly fine on 90 and have NO complaints what so ever.

  • @mrbadabing Well yes, it does give a competitive edge, yet if this setting is accessible it won't. All players can choose what FOV they prefer, in turn, it is up to the player to either hinder or increase their competitive edge.

This is a prominent issue as some players resort to adding a certain line to the engine.ini file in the Steam version of the game.

Whilst 90 FOV is good on normal monitors, it is sickening on ultrawide monitors. I say this from an immersion and experience point of view, Sea of Thieves offers more than PvP, a higher FOV slider can immerse the player when exploring islands, or sailing the seas.

  • @o3xx PS: I stated two reasons to show that increasing the FOV slider helps everyone, regardless of how they play the game.

  • @mrbadabing I also suggested implementing an Anti-aliasing setting. Some GPUs come with factory defects that show more jaggies than other GPUs, its honestly more troublesome to send back the GPU as some players live in countries far away from the GPU manufacturer, where sending and getting it back takes a while. Various players also buy used GPUs, with no warranty. Overall, this setting benefits all players, as some people are looking to increase AA quality, whilst some people want to disable it to gain performance.

  • @o3xx I believe anti aliasing will be working if it's turned on from your graphics card settings, not entirely sure because mine is always turned off.
    You should check it.

  • huh? SoT has no anti-aliasing?
