Hello everyone, here is another story about how my friend and I set out on a voyage to just complete a Tall Tale (Wild Rose) and we end up turning into Reaper Emissary V along the way and put up the fight of our lives.
A long time ago, some friends I made while joining random crews wanted to get the Shores Of Gold curse. It took us about 4-5 days to complete, dedicating hours just sailing and finding the journals then reloading the final checkpoints, but sometimes you wouldn't be able to finish because someone had to hop off for dinner, they were tired, ect... so it was very time consuming until we all finally completed it.
Well a good friend of mine started his Gold curse journey as well and since I had some of the checkpoints of course I wanted to help him out. Well "It all started with a Wild Rose" Tall Tale and we reached chapter 3 in the story. As we were sailing to our next island we spot a Brig w/ a level III Gold Emissary near Cannon Cove. We were trying to avoid conflict because: 1) we didn't have any mats. 2) we weren't in the mood to get sweaty and 3) These Tall Tales can take up a lot of your time. We ended up sailing past and to just continue on with the quest but you could just feel the energy that we both wanted to sink them and steal their loot.
Once we got to Lone Cove we found a Order of Souls Emissary II on the beach and few skulls there too. Then heard cannon shots in the distances so we both looked back at the Brig still anchored at the island we see that Sloop was trying to sink them. After a brief exchange of fire from both sides the Brig was in a spin and Sloop was sent off to Davey Jones's Locker. We both knew what to be done... All I said was "Bro, we have" and he already responded with "yes".
We quickly looted the island and set fourth to confront the Brig. As we get closer we see the alliance flag raised and crew ready on the cannons. Their ship was decorated with a reapers figure head, the new Dark Warsmith Hull and reaper sails. I tell my friend "GIVE NO QUARTER" and he lets loose a few chainshots followed by a rapid fire all 10 cannon balls. "Im reloading" he says, so we switched roles he became the helms man and I hop on the cannons repeating the rapid fire. The Brig responded with only a couple of shots then it went quite, we assumed they went down to repair their ship but they decided to board. From the deck I threw blunders near the ladders and my buddy hopped on the canopy to get the high ground. I was able to knock one off but one still managed to board. We make quick work of him and continue our sweep around this crewless Brig now.
As their ship sank and the loot rose to the top we discovered that they had a Reapers lvl II and a Gold lvl I with a lot of captains chest. This was a good raid but we couldn't sell without an emissary. so we rush back to Sanctuary Outpost and we raised the Reapers Emissary. As we decided to continue the Tale, we spot the same Brig had responded at Smugglers Bay. They did not pursue us and nor did we chase them. Collecting loot along the way to Crescent Isle to get the final pendant we see a Sloop parked behind the island... We all know what this means right. They were doing a vault! Sadly though they weren't. We sank them just because and made our way back to outpost so he could complete the quest.
As it turns out though, there was a ship wreck with a Reapers Chest near the sea post so we make our move to get it. As we're approaching we spot ANOTHER Brig with a Gold lvl IV making its way towards it as well! We scrambled to the cannons getting off a couple of shots before our mast took hit and started to drop. We made quick repairs to the mast but then we heard a boarders on ladders and had to let it drop. After killing both of them and we started the repairs again on the mast. Just in time before the other pirates respawned. It was our turn to deal out some damage now, we destroyed both mast and hit them a constant rapid fire of cannon balls.
The enemy was suppressed and we ended up killing one of them above the deck. Once I heard that death sound, I focused all shots on his ghost to keep him from being revived. In the process I ended up killing another and I immediately started to board their ship. In the end the loot was ours for the taking. We were Stacked with loot and adrenaline was pumping because as we set our course for Reapers Hideout a lvl I Reaper was sailing towards us from the island. As we meet near *Cannon Cove out of all times Flame Heart appears and both of us were bombarded by ghost ships. A temporary truce was implied and we ended up defeating FH but almost instantly went back to trying to sink one another.
Luckily we had looted the cannon ball chest and were able to hit them with both Wraith Balls and my friend followed by shooting a Ballast Ball. We cleaned up the remaining crew swimming in the water and now we really had to sell.
On our way to reapers we sailed for about 5sec only to be attacked by a Kraken now. After defeating the Kraken, we loaded everything on our almost destroyed ( it was already destroyed) Row boat and set our ship into the distance to "fool" the enemy. Well us being the Smart Pirates that we are we still had the reapers chest........
and then we find out that the row boat was glitched so we had all this loot on this boat sooooooo close to Reaper. Well that Brig was back and we were shipless.
After freaking out for about 10sec we decide to make sure if we can't sell neither can they. Well they are coming in hot, like crashing the island hot, to sell the loot. Two of them jump off and that's when I take my shots on the island cannons. destroying their mast and putting five shots on their ship. In the confusion we attacked and killed both players but the third was sailing around the island. Now at this point we're pretty upset because all that grinding for loot and hard work was sitting in the water! Getting desperate, we started to throw blunderbombs and it ends up sinking! YES all that loot was now available to sell. But we still had the Brig circling the island.
Well we searched thru the loot looking for the chest and flags to sell first. After finding them we made our way to the shore only to find the two other crew members ready to fight. He was able to kill one but the 2nd one got him. I was able to get a shot off my pistol and swordload him to death and revive my friend. FINALLY time to sell but we still had to deal with that Brig. getting ready for the next wave of them attacking a Sloop lvl IV Order of Souls was there trying to sink them! We could not believe our luck. This bought us some time to sell amongst hearing the cannon fire the sloop didn't stand a chance and the Brig was back for more except this time only one player kept coming to the island. We kept killing him and eventually they just sailed away and me and my friend was like did they really just give up?
About halfway thru selling everything though we ended up losing our emissary status because our ship sank which was the risk we knew would happen but in the end we made an outstanding memory of everything that happened.
