Glitterbeard

  • I just wanted to say that I just got the Legend of Glitterbeard commendation done, and that was very touching what you(the developers of Sea of Thieves) did for your friend. I just hope that more people get to see that for themselves, and more people take time away from fighting on the Seas to see the beautiful things like that added into it.

  • @donovannecronis I read through all the journals and paid attention to all the details, and knowing the meaning behind this addition made me shed a tear at that ending... beautiful.

  • @donovannecronis
Truly correct. Very beautiful tribute that I was able to steer a server alliance to do on Day 1. My game was glitched so I couldn't see the textures in the treehouse.
Sadly, I'll probably never get a group to do it again though.

  • I sail with a very reliable galleon crew. But every time I mention glitter beard to an alliance they don’t care or know about. :(

  • I stand by that 5 people would have made this event much higher quality on a random server as far as experience goes. I think 8 player requirement significantly lessens this experience for a majority of the people wandering around random servers out there. 5 would have been the magic number imo.

    everything else was lovely

I've done it multiple times to help people on random servers and it's generally a nightmare to coordinate 8 random people many of which have no patience or attention span

5 is the sweet spot. 2 sloops and another or the most common which would be a full brig and a sloop. Many more positive experiences would come out of 5 people and it would still accomplish the goal of interactions and coming together for a common goal

The requirement is fine for alliance servers and people that have a lot of friends to coordinate but the requirement is generally a nightmare for the majority that are solo or open crew people on servers that haven't been manipulated

It's not a matter of it being hard imo it's a matter of where is the sweet spot that makes it require effort but doesn't require so much effort that it weakens the ending/experience by making people irritated and exhausted by dealing with random people.

  • The GlitterBeard experience is something Special and Pure Rare , in Appearance and Spirit and i cannot bring myself to bring one bad word about it ... i was in extreme luck to be invited by the Crewbinder Mr J4dio , himself , and his family. They counted seven , i counted one ( * George , you dumb nitwit , you were never good at mathmatics , you count as the biggest Zero ever ... - My , my what are we friendly again , Sunshine * Shut it and stop interfering me , Captain Tearface , i never asked the opinion of a crybaby - Sigh) which made us with 8...

8 Pirates is great to experience the Adventure but...i ,too, fear that many Pirates ,who didn't had our luck may never see the GlitterBeard Experience and that is kind of sad...

GlitterBeard should be available to all...Yes , sometimes it is worth to take the gamble to go on a random crew or make a Looking For Group post that describes exactly what one is looking for but ... i know , from experience , that it can be hard to try to find or connect with others while having fears of the other persons...

Have a laugh about it ,if you feel you need it , but many Pirates play Solo , some because they don't have Friends that also can play SOT , others because they simply can't , or are afraid to , connect with others ... There should be some kind of moral code that those who sail the GlitterBeard sails are up to bound with others ... The message of the GlitterBeard Experience is way too Beautiful and Heartwarming that the less verbal or daring Pirate should be kept out to this very Special Piece of SOT...

i do hope that many people still try to let know by the Forum or through Looking For Group posts that they want to do this Quest and that others , for once , respect that Sail and leave those people in Peace or even join them to participate on that Quest , because , by the SeaGods , GlitterBeard was a Beautiful person and so is this Great Tribute !!

  • @clumsy-george We only sail with the glitter beard sails while we’re trying to get help from others. I do agree though the sails should represent some sort of unspoken understanding amongst us pirates. The fact that it hasn’t worked yet will not deter us from trying.
