I reached Athenas Fortune a few weeks ago and also grinded out the Gold Hoarders and the Merchant Alliance. So i started grinding for Athena and noticed that you can just play more than an hour or longer if you want to complete a full voyage for this faction. I also noticed that the progression for the commendations that you need to have, before you are able to buy the ghost ship cosmetics are not really equally progressing. I sold less than 10 villainous bounty skulls of ancient fortune but more than 30 crates of ancient fortune. When I will finally have unlocked all but one commendation, I will have to grind more Thieves Heaven runs, Athena runs and emissary grade 5 voyages for the small chance to get the one item type I need.
My Suggestion: 3 New Athenas Fortune voyage types, that require less time and get you less loot, but the loot you wanted. You can buy these voyages at the mysterious stranger(not the pirate lord) and he will always offer you one of every type of voyage(when his inventory is newly refreshed).
First voyage type: A typical riddle(4 lines or maybe even more if it is possible🤔)that rewards you with a single ancient gunpowder barrel.
Second voyage type: A map with crosses(x marks the spot) that shows the location of ancient chalices, ancient relics and crates of ancient fortune. For the amount of crosses a number should be chosen that balances out the fact, that this is a minimum afford voyage. I think you should be able to find 1-4 ancient rewards. If you want to have more crosses on one map, gems could be added into this voyage to balance it out. The devs just gotta find the sweet spot.
Third voyage type: A note with 1-4 wanted captains on it, that drop ancient bounty skulls or ancient villainous bounty skulls. The lower the amount of captains, the higher the chance an ancient villainous bounty skull drops. Once again the devs gotta find out if 4 could be to much for such low afford.
Notes: All voyages could be balanced out by the distance you have to travel to them. You would also be limited by your voyage inventory space. You will always just get one Note, map or riddle, not more! They also should not make the big Athena voyages obsolete.
