Cinematic Trailers

    Will we ever be seeing cinematic trailers for game updates again? I still go back and watch the original Hungering Deep, Cursed Sails, and Forsaken Shores cinematic trailers every now and then and get the chills. They were so fun and good, and really made me excited for what's to come. Even if they weren't in trailer form, but more, what if there could be Sea of Thieves Shorts? I for one would watch the hell out of those.

    I understand that Rare's generally against roadmaps for the foreseeable future, but I feel like the cinematic trailers were a major casualty of this. I also understand that working from home may make it very hard to create these.

    Aside from those points, I am hoping we can soon see more cinematics, they were always really well-made and exciting to watch, i'd look forward to seeing more. Cheers!

    @klutchxking518 You and me are of like minds on this subject. I too enjoy those trailers - the 2016 E3 trailer still gives me chills (and we still don't have everything shown in it!)...

    The art style and character imbued in every pirate in this game makes me desperate to see some actual stories told in this universe too.

    The way the “Overwatch” shorts have been released.

    Imagine watching a short about the “heist of Thieves Haven” or a some Hunters Call fisherman, splashing and fleeing for his life through the waters of shark bait Cove, as an entire crew of skeletons hunts him.

    It’s entirely unnecessary . But would also be amazing.

    My favorite trailer was Cursed Sails, with Risen from the soundtrack, and the ship submerging as the captain cackles.

    It was an exciting time, and a great update.

    I’m DYING for this! It’d help hype up the game and it’s marketing so much.

    However, I think I heard somewhere that because of how expensive they are to make, they can’t do those too often.

    But the best cinematic trailer for me was the Cursed Sails one...

    @captain-coel me too, sir. Something about the old guy looking freaked out as they explore the vaults... I want an entire story about these characters.
