Little help please.
Try either posting the link directly as text via copy/paste or use the image button by only placing a URL inside the () with no title inside the [] - and make sure it ends in .gif. Sometimes it won't appear right away, but in that case, refreshing the page usually works. Also, try to go the the source, if possible - sometimes you might get a search engine link, which aren't always reliable. 😉

You need to use this button, when you write your post:
When you click it, it will paste the following code:
Simply replace the text "image url" with the image/gif's link. As for the link, you can get that through right click - copy image address.
You need to watch the links you get though, as they must have extensions such as: *.gif / *.png / *.jpeg / etc. Sometimes you will pick links that won't display the image.
Here's an example with links of the same image (the one that I used above):

Will work: https://i.imgur.com/FzqXyw4.png

try adding .png at the end of the link works for me on imgur links
