Is there some ability they have I'm not aware of, or is it a bug that causes reaper ships to disappear from the ship's map despite the fact that the crew has not left the game? This happens to me frequently and I'd like to know if it's an in-game advantage they get or if it's something wrong with the programming
Reapers disappearing from the map?
It's an exploit.
In Case of a Galleone after voting Up, 2 vote it down already.
When in danger one logs out.
The 2 votes now are 2/3 of the Crew so the downvote counts and you need not be near any outpost.
The 4th logs back into the game. The PvPers do it also and hoist Reaper this way just before they loot not before they do attack to not be revealed on the map before.

OoO thats a dirty trick! if this wasn't a pirate game i would more upset about it. still they should probably require your boat to be at an outpost before allowing the flag to lower.
@shifty189 this feels less like piratey tactics and more like knowingly taking advantage of game mechanics that aren't intended to work that way? Very disappointing to learn that it's not an actual, intended game mechanic.

this is true, exactly the kind of tactic a dirty pirate would use ;)
