I just cannot calm down - stop making the Kraken spawn on lvl.5 Emissarys

  • Do it. Stop the trolling. Stop trolling people who take their time to grind the nerfed Athena-Emissary to rank.5, just to have a bunch of losers appear and handed their victory over Emissary players cause you let the Kraken spawn on the Emissary ship.

    [Mod Edit]
This is too personal. This is not a game anymore.
Those GRIEFERS who risk nothing with their Emissary-less and loot-less Sloop have not earned anything.

SoThieves should not make people feel what I feel right now.
Even hours later I get only angrier thinking about how muuuuch the game sucked their... hulls... [Mod Edit]

Its now the third time this happened to me when I had an Emissary.
    [Mod Edit]

    This will not be forgotten.
    Or forgiven.

Sea of Toxic rise. [Mod Edit]

  • They don't make the Kraken spawn on level 5 emissaries to begin with. It's luck of the draw between all ships that happen to be in open water while there are no other events active.

I must say I am so angry right now [Mod Edit].

Okay that's wayyyyy over the top. It's a game buddy.

Losing loot in a cartoon Pirate game is not personal.

You need to take a walk. You can't call for real life violence, especially not over events that transpired in a virtual pirate world.

    [Mod edit]

wow.... that's just... I don't even know what to say.

  • Ahoy!

Threats of real world violence will not be tolerated. I have edited your post accordingly.

  • That post pre-mod edit is exactly how I feel when I'm at a pirate pizza party and I find out the scurvy dogs only brought pineapple pizza

  • @odyssee-mit-tee just kill the kraken. It's not hard.

As for players, if it bothers you, learn how to avoid, and if all else fails, let them watch you ride over the edge in the red sea.

People get far too mad. If you're losing THAT MUCH loot, you're not turning stuff in often enough.

I know, all those pictures of people with a thousand chests on board, you can do that to right?

No, they're doing that in alliance servers, where there is zero threat.

Cash in your stuff, mate. As often as possible.

Also, just kill the kraken. There's not a difficult NPC in this game.

Not that I would ever find this people.

I wrote one of the famous "what if" scenarios.
    What?
    What? :D

Do you think a game cannot make someone psychotic?
Or wake something psychotic in people that is not already there?
    It can.
    And it will.

" People should fear the wrath of a usually peaceful man. "

    I don't think im choleric.
Or not in control of myself usually.
But what happened that day was a fantastic shitshow 10 out of 10 on my expense.

    .
Around a month ago or so I logged in and attacked a Reapers rank.5 brigantine btw.
    ° with a smaller Ship
    &
° they hoisted the "PvP faction Emissary"

I did it with a filthy lvl.1 Reapers Emissary and without loot.
But at least I tried to bring something to the table.
So that means they should have nothing to be offended for, does it?

Still: One of this guys was sooooooooooo toxic, at the first opportunity I was hit by a hotmic in my homelanguage (German) and wooooow he didn't hold back at all. :D
Called me all kinds of things, threatened, insulted and omg was he salty.

I had a PvP break for like 8 months or so.
Already forgot what SoThieves does to people.
    But I was really surprised.
And the odds were all in their favour too.

Yet he was toxic as hell.
    Why?
Hah - well, now I know why.
But I had the Kraken spawn on me and make 2vs2 basically into a 2vs4 for a moment and we died to it.

    .
This is a serious matter gamedesign and other wannabe-reasonable arguments and logic will not work or appease those burning with justified rage.

Yes its just a game but at the same time it is not.
And Rare MUST make this game as embarassingly "fair" as possible.
    They have an obligation to!

Otherwise... well... lets say no one has an obligation either to not carry that grudge around and vent it... elsewhere and in another scenario.
    Not like anybody cares right?
No one wants to be responsible for anything, never. :D

As I said it was just a "what if" scenario and I am thankful that fate had not tempted with knowledge as to where to find my tormentors.

Me and others "sucking" it up is nothing to be taken-for-granted.
It won't make us more mature if we do.
And it won't make us more infantile if we don't.

Some things just must be avenged.
Otherwise the hatred festers and will turn into something much much more sinister and dangerous.
    .
    .

So to end this "rant(?)/answer" of mine with a memorable story.

I have done something very mean and hurtful already irl to "something" to finally be free of this desire to hurt, destroy and get revenge - already!
What that was and to whom or what I did it, I won't write.

Most possibly not a smart thing to do right? :)

I think people should realize that even a videogame is not a closed room in itself.
The entire world, this entire planet and everything sentient on it, is - if nothing else - just a counterpart that exists with myself as the only thing that relates to it.

That means everything is one and ultimately shares the same quality to be hated or despised by me - even if just fleetingly - if push comes to shove.
    We live in a society.
Or we live on a irritating, wrath incuring planet - that only exists to make someone very very angry temporarily.

I am not part of the "outrage culture".

But I can totally relate to the feeling of getting back at this cocky, unworthy world for making one livid.
Its okay if I am not "liked" or "understood" for these words or logic.
Means only one thing in the end.
" Your own particular event in your life has just not occured yet that will make you want to set the entire planet ablaze. Just to 'get even' with the unworthy things, events or situations that should have never dared to as much as occur. "

Why can bad stuff... just not happen? =)
Why must I feel these feelings?
    Ahhh, who knows.

But I know one thing. My anger or suffering... will not just be my own.

    I know.
Makes it not "nicer" that it happened.
It should NOT HAPPEN. Its a slap into the face.

I am not someone who is excited at the prospect to win fights I think I could not win normally.
I just dont want to lose the fights I dont want to lose!
Or at least not in such a cheap and unfair manner.

I give nothing about that it can happen to anybody.
This wont make the community less toxic.
I care about having fun and not being SPIT into the face for enjoying a game when it is not deciding to totally troll and ruin my day.

  • @odyssee-mit-tee seems like you need a break from SoT...

Nothing is a game when I say it isn't.

Where you and your perspective are right now, I was there years ago with other scenarios.
I don't care about "logic" or wannabe sportsman like mentality.

If that thing happens... I will not take it.
And I will get my revenge somewhere else.
Not that anybody cares but me.

But my pain and hatred will not just be my own.

  • This is hillarious

Something in this world did not find something else hilarious though.

  • This is by far the best thread so far, haha....i love the OP. hahaha

  • @odyssee-mit-tee

It is a PvEvP game, therefore you have to deal with both Environmental and Player threats and sometimes at the same time. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose and both are acceptable outcomes. Just because you do not like to lose doesn't change the fact that this is part of playing games.

You seemingly call out that nobody wants to be responsible, yet you are trying to shift the responsibility of your loss on the game instead of your own actions. If you want to take revenge, simply raise the anchor after your loss and sail back, try to retake your spoils and defeat those that contested you. You shouldn't move the salt and rage you experience in the game and act out in the world. As the code states, try keeping the disputes upon the waves...

If you have such difficulty dealing with a loss on the seas, maybe you should evaluate the risks that you take and make different choices. Never sail around with more than you are willing to lose, as at some point you will lose... it is inevitable as that is just part of games.

  • @odyssee-mit-tee you do realise especially on a sloop the kraken is

1 easily avoided (dont go out at sea when no event is active)

2 easily defeated.... just 2 tentacles about 10 cannonball hits TOTAL and shes gone

3 easily escaped, just stay on repairs and when she starts sucking you off (noticed by dust moving past your body) just go below deck.

On a sloop the kraken is laughable at best

  • What would really be a spit in the face is a disconnection, crash, hacks, all that is not intended. Every session can be a complete time waste or the exact opposite. It depends on rng, but you are always given a chance to escape or fight back in some way or another.

Did they buff the kraken again? Because last time I fought it, it took just 3 cannonballs per tentacle...so 6 in total

  • The fact that a game can cause powerful feelings like this, is proof that its a good game. But remember that you also get equally powerful good feelings if you, for example, manage to avoid danger and turn in some really high value loot. (Or win a difficult battle on the seas.)

The reason the game works so well is the risk of loosing everything. That risk of loosing everything, gives the loot its true value.

Also remember that the Emissary flags are PvP beacons, that increase the value of the loot but also makes everything much more exiting as the risks are higher.

We have all lost badly in this game, and its part of the experience. It it happens, just exit the game, and take a break... OR get some supplies and go back for revenge if that would make you feel better. Just remember to keep those toxic words that are bubbling in your mouth to yourself or your friends in your crew. (That is at least my policy... always be nice to other crews... or at least be silent.)

  • Well just simply do the smart thing and pay attention to wut world event is up. If there is none go to an island for 5 mins then head back out

  • Ahoy!

This thread will now be locked. I have already warned against threats of real world violence and these have not been followed.

    Thanks,
