After the patch on February 20, a nasty and annoying bug with a 5-second freeze at Alt+Tab returned to the game. Please fix this. Again.

and people who spoil themself every riddle and such i have no smypathy for :)@stundorn From what I was told (not sure if true) it backs up the original server for 10 minutes which gives you a better chance at getting multiple ships on the same server if you are on the same server/timezone. Say you have 5 people searching and all VPN's are searching for East Coast, you AlT F-4/Tab to back up that 1 server giving you a better chance to land in a new server with your friends. It's how server Alliances are set up. That's my understanding.
While it's not 5 seconds for me (more like 2), I'm also having this issue since the patch.
And I alt-tab often to chat on Discord, work on homework, look at Youtube, Google something, or interact with my... counts... 2156 tabs in Firefox.
Solo slooping in a straight line with no visible ships nearby is not something that needs my full attention, and I have plenty of other things I can do at the same time.

THE BUG HAS BEEN FIXED!
In the last update, the problem was resolved.
For now...It seems to be ALOT better, but I still freeze up for half a second, not nearly as bad as it was, but still.... I didn't have this issue at all when i was playing from the MS.
Did this update completely remove the freezes for you?
No. 0.3-0.5 seconds of freeze left. But it was like this before.

It's stupid to ask for more, knowing this game.Also, for people wondering why someone would need to alt + tab. Do you expect people to close down their game every time they want to answer an email or if they want to order a pizza online? I am always on call for work and need to regularly answer a quick email while playing or hop on google drive and upload files, should I close my game to do this and lose all my progress?
Sometimes I even like to put a Youtube playlist on while I play. The pros are endless for alt + tabbing. Remember a PC is a multifunctional machine not just a game box, so it should be able to do multiple functions at once if it has good enough specs to handle it.
If you think everyone alt+tabbing should suffer because a very small percent of people who do it are doing it for "shady" practices then you are a generalizer/stereotyper/bigot and I question any opinions you have of others. You should be telling Rare to improve their anti-cheat and not telling people who alt+tab to be penalized.
