It turns out my worst enemy is fishing related RNG.
Spent about 7 months checking barrels and shipwrecks because I don't enjoy fishing in games but as I close in on the coveted title I'm left little choice but to put in some time and have my patience tested to snag these last few requirements.
I'm no stranger to grinds but this one has been brutal. Only a few fish left.

Hidden spring keep became my go to spot.
Stormfish are a nightmare as I've been doing this solo.

nice but those damm skellies are still on mermaids and hidden spring unless you use the spring

rng was a nightmare on the sands
oddly had less combat than ever at a fort sitting by myself. Had to kill a few tuckers yesterday and sink a couple ships today but it was nothing like forts used to be and I was there a long time.
I have 3 forsaken left for devilfish which should be pretty chill out there other than the occasional lava bath
then just the shadows and a few more black clouds neither of which I am looking forward to. I find blackclouds fairly regularly in shipwreck barrels but shadows are so rare in barrels I'm just gonna have to catch the rest if I want this title any time soon

@wolfmanbush one of my fishing disasters was spending hours fishing only to get sunk by players right before turning in and losing all my precious fishies. I mostly just fish and sell when I get them while doing other stuff now not outright grind for them.

I feel your pain.
The choice between keeping them on your person and risking a disconnect or keeping them in storage and risking piracy is something the Jigsaw killer would enjoy
Glad to have my last nighttime exclusive fish done. Bringing it all together for a short window inside of a storm was a real pain especially solo
Blackclouds also require a window but I tend to find them on a fairly regular basis in shipwreck barrels so I'll keep incorporating that method. Good luck getting a storm to chase you and good luck predicting them apparently they only chase you for an hour when you don't want them to.
Shadows are a nightmare. Super duper rare in barrels and rare to spawn while fishing. Problem here is that it's usually dark so all the stormfish look very similar and you don't want to risk not catching one that spawned so it leads to a lot of extra time spent catching the fish of that territory . I feel like Bill Paxton (RIP sweet Prince) chasing storms and dreams out here

After months and months of constantly checking barrels and shipwrecks by myself whether it was safe or not to do so
finding something I needed in a random open crew brig and having to row or swim it to a sea post in hopes I made it there before I got brigged
Chasing endless storms and fighting to defend my hunting ground over and over
here we are
The most difficult and time consuming solo grind I've participated in
but this is not the end
it is only a moment to breathe
the beast is yet to come
onward
Glad I complimented the new merchant voyage so much because some random's merchant shipwreck brought me in my 10th shadow
What a fitting way to cross the finish line
