I'm sure anyone who uses pistols competitively is probably tired of using the same sea dog and mercenary models, being the only pistols with iron sights precise enough for long range shots.
Adding actual on screen crosshairs would probably be a bit against the design of the game even if it was a unique perk to using the pistol, but there are lots of pistols that are very close to having really good iron sights.
The latest offender of course is the Order of Souls pistol, which has a solid 90 degree angle coming to a point at the end of the barrel, but the bullet flies high and a bit to the right of it. I know it can sound nitpicky, but if you're trying to hit someone is poking out of cover or trying to snipe a keg at the top of a crow's nest, having a reliable iron sight is important. It isn't good that the pistol is a precision weapon that's often hampered heavily by the cosmetic model.
