Anyone here Reaper 75? If so, how'd you get there?

  • Hi all!

I've been playing this game for a good while now (started right around the nerf to Reaper xp). I'm currently level 55 with the Reapers and man, those last twenty levels look pretty impossible.

At my level, a reapers chest is worth about 4% of a level, a grade five flag is worth a little less than 7%, and everything else you can turn in provides 0XP. Even if that XP didn't continue to diminish the higher one gets (which it will), that would mean I'd need 500 reapers chests or 300 grade five flags. Given the scaling of diminishing returns, that could very well be 2000 chests or 1200 flags.

Which feels nuts. Is there something I'm missing? Has ANYONE hit level 75 Reaper post nerf without spending 8 hours a day everyday playing this game?

  • I carried my friend from low 40's to 75 pretty quickly recently

just pounded out fleets and ashen winds and acquired flags/stolen loot along the way. Took under 2 months but she only plays 2 or 3 times a week for a 1-3 hours at a time. Went pretty quick but I'm a bit of an efficiency fanatic so there wasn't a lot of wasted time

  • @diligentauto1

A large percentage of people that got there early did so on the first few days when the reaper faction came along.. Levels were super easy to obtain and i know many made level 75 that same day.. They since made it a little harder to level up.

  • @diligentauto1 Actually its pretty easy (I think Reaper is easiest trade to level up because everything sells there)

Step 1: Find good mate or two to play with. Preferably somebody who does Arena often.
Step 2: When you spawn new ship start collecting cannonballs, wood planks, chain shoots, blunder bombs and cursed balls.
Step 3: once you have 200 cannonballs 100 wood planks, 50-60 chain shoots you are ready for a hunt. Raise reaper emissary
Step 4: Sink every ship you see until you run out of ships and server merges. Continue on that server.

The key to running Reaper is to constantly collect supplies. Have one storage chest up front, and as you sail grab barrels. Every-time you stop at hideout collect everything you find in barrels there. Collect rowboats, empty them and next time you see one drop empty one and attach full one.

this is a pretty slow way to do it if people just care about leveling

servers are unpredictable and a lot of the times dead so imo lurking a server to death is the slow way. Supplies are always cool to have but I prefer the Rambo method

Drop into a server hit a fleet or an ashen winds or a flameheart with bare minimum supplies. If it's a fleet or flameheart you have supplies now when you emerge from the wreckage and check for emissaries because these events will grade 5 you. If no emissaries and the next event is a regular fort (least efficient event) new server and rinse repeat

Kill fast level fast sell fast and get out fast once the server stops serving the pirate

Fresh spawn level 1 emissaries are a waste of time to wait around for. Drawn out resource hogging ego battles with server hoppers that have nothing to lose are a waste of time. High value targets only, evaluate the server after hitting 5 and move on to the next if there is nothing left of significance.

  • @diligentauto1 I'm 75...long after the nerf...actually not a big deal...a good method would be selling ghost fleet stuff while beeing reaper V...gives quite good xp...

  • Easy, run reaper emissary and farm events during double exp weekends. You can do this for all factions with emissaries.

  • Wow now I’m scared off I’m currently level 23 or so in Reapers because i concentrated on the old Trading Companies! I wanted to do reapers least!

  • i'm sorry to say this but you are too focussed on this Reaper thing , i am a bad pirate , i mean a lowly skilled pirate and i am over level 50 with Reapers ... We , our crew , does sometimes a Reaper Emissary run , and then you rank up quite quickly...

if i would be allowed to give you one advice : make a mixture of emissaries so you rank up a bit equally and ... ranks or levels mean nothing here , it is all about the Adventure , the unexpected things that the AI and Real Pirates throw at you . Do NOT get fixated on Levels , do NOT grind , just play , have fun and you will see you will get there faster than you would be expected or when you watch every millimeter of that level bar crawl...

  • You have to run tube emissary flag. Reaper won't reward you if you aren't advertising.
