ok so, i did today 3 of the new merchant voyages . when i had to go to the shipwreck, it was no where to be found , i went through the route for atleast 30min , couldnt find any flock of birds . the only one i did find was like with x3 amount flock of birds in it . and there wasnt any shipwreck or barrels there. so my guess is the voyages may overlap and like double spawn a shipwreck and instead you get none. the second issiue i had. i was about to finish the voyage , when i was going to the shipwreck, as i came to it . it wasnt my shipwreck, it had different name, and i couldnt use my captain key either. so i kept searching . and again i saw the x3 flock of birds , with nothing in it, so please explain why the f i wasted 1.5h on this stupid voyage when im not getting no where with them ?? please fix your game rare
new merchant voyage bugs
@alexnest94 I completed a good number of the quests yesterday: both Larinna version and Merchant version. I didn’t have any issues with the sunken ship not being found. All the various island locations and sea locations were more or less close together and easily located. Although, many people were seemingly doing the voyages, so there were seagulls EVERYWHERE. We even found a sunken ship, and realized just in time...it wasn’t ours.
My only constructive comment would be that the key, while glinting blue, can still be somewhat tricky to find. A couple times yesterday were made sure to search every square inch of each location and still didn’t find the key on the first pass through. We had to backtrack and only then did we find the key. Two of the more tricky locations were underwater on the shoreline of a small island and weirdly placed on a vertical rock face above our heads.
Other than that, no issues yet that my crew has encountered.
I'm glad to see its not just me having problems with the new merchant voyages. Since they launched I've gone on four and only been able to finish one. The only one I actually finished the ship was crashed at the first clue location only a few squares off the starting point. On two voyages I followed the clues to the ship but the book was unreachable. In one instance the skeleton that the book spawns next to was half buried in sand connected to a landmass, and so the book was under the world and unreachable. The second instance was a similar. The derelict ship spawned at an angle that you couldn't position yourself in such a way to be prompted to pick up the book despite a good 15 minutes worth of attempts. The last one I was unable to complete was a failed spawn. I picked up all the clues along the path from Daggertooth to Golden Sands until I found the penultimate note, and upon following the specified route found the mass of birds over the water. I dove in and the ship wasn't there. Sailing 10 squares away and back to the same birds several times didn't fix the issue either.
@alexnest94 Give you an update from my adventures tonight.
I had a mission from Marauders Arch to Dagger Tooth, 6 clues, no sunken ship in sight, but a small cluster of birds flying over the Dagger Tooth dock (can’t recall if those birds are normal).
Another mission from Golden Sands to Dagger Tooth. We found the ship INSIDE the rock formation in the central fleet area. We dove underneath the water, we received the banner for the ship next to the rocks, and found the bowsprit sticking out of the rock.
Plus side... we could sell the unused keys for 2500
My crew is also having issues. We completed 2 of them no problem. But then mission 1 we received a bronze key instead of a platinum key and when we went to open the captains quarters it just didn’t open or que us to be open but instead said it required a key. In this mission we also didn’t find a captains log. Then in mission 2, we found clues leading to the ship and found another bronze key close to the final destination but could not find the final ship. The closest birds we found were small flock:barrels, large flock:nothing, and a small flock:someone else’s ship. We decided we were tired of searching and being screwed so we stopped for the night. Are bronze keys maybe counterfeit captains keys? Or maybe mean there is no actual ship? Or was this all a glitch? Has anyone been able to open rooms with bronze keys?
Want to add to this in case of a bug report...
My crew took on 3 of the voyages and one that took us from Ancient Spire all the way to Finest Trading Post around Snake Isle. We found a massive ring of birds near Chicken but there was no wreck and we searched the voyage route multiple times. Pretty sure the wrecks are bugging out or something. Thank goodness you can sell the keys at least.
I couldn't find the ship in one of the 4 that I have attempted so far. My crew and I sailed around in circles near and around Maurders Arch for some time(voyage began at Wild Treasures seapost), coming across many groups of floating barrels, including one associated with the mission, but we were unable to locate the ship. I have since heard of wrecks spawning inside of rocks so wonder if that is what happened to us. It is difficult to call it quits on these things and very frustrating, but I can't sail around in circles forever looking for a ship that might not exist.
I haven’t encountered this particular bug, but I have had a glitch when I find a clue and the parchment just says “Log Entry” and then the rest of it is blank. However, I did notice that there were some pieces of wood with some blue coloring on it leading in a certain direction so I sailed my ship in that direction and the ship was there. I don’t know if that was intentional or something but it definitely made things confusing.
I had a voyage today where everything went right, found the key on the second set of seagulls, found all clues required, and then found the wreck.
However, because the wreck had spawned fairly close to Plunder Outpost, the bottom deck of the ship wasn't accessible. It was buried in sand and there seemed to be an invisible floor stopping me going any further than midway down the middle deck. I checked every inch of the ship for the log but couldn't find it, so I assume it must have been on the bottom deck.
The voyage was the one from Devils Ridge to The Finest Trading Post.
