Stumbled Backwards Through Floor; Discovered Gate To Heaven Beneath The Earth?

    I've a tale to spin, but I promise you every word written here is true.
    Last night I signed in to Sea of Thieves. I had coin in my pocket and I wanted to do some shopping. I awoke in a tavern at Plunder Outpost, and once I had full control of my senses I held the S key and walked backwards. Instantly I found myself stumbling through the floor, into the beginning of a long tunnel. Curiosity piqued, I followed a trail of candlelights and mushrooms down a winding path, rounded a corner and discovered a great blue arch. The angels were singing a slow shanty, inviting me inward. I pressed my face against the blue light but I could not pass through this gate. What lay beyond??

    After a great deal of trying I decided to cut my losses and head back up to the tavern to see if I could repeat my actions and get back into this secret tunnel. I found some odd collision surrounded a section of four blocks in the floor behind my spawn point, and if I jumped and held W I could clip into and out of the secret tunnel consistently.

    Is this something I was not supposed to see? I've been a pirate for three days and I've just discovered this blue light beneath the tavern floor. Clipping through the floor is easy and consistent, which is what I came here to report.

    I don't think it will be replicated but, well, now I have something to try. It doesn't sound like anything I've ever experienced or heard of before though. Granted, I've only been playing a few months. At first blush it sounds like you accidentally found a tunnel accessing developer tools or something.

    @mavnderlvst I took screenshots of the location and the route in case my friends didn't believe my tale. It was at 2am eastern time. Interacting with the collision box felt like pushing against a mushy refrigerator right on top of that four-block section of floor, and with a bit of wiggling and jumping I fell right through, and was able to jump out and in again.

    I'd like to see what lies beyond the singing blue gate. It was so inviting, I felt at home there.

    I find myself awakening in a tavern here, my ship moored outside.

    I'd spawned at this table, in front of these blocks, where I stumbled butt-first into my adventure

    This is the beginning of the tunnel that greeted me. It took me a moment to realize I was not in the tavern anymore.

    As I arrive at this landing, I begin to feel as if I should not be here. But here I find myself, so I press onward:

    I round the corner here and lay my eyes upon this shimmering blue gate

    Drawing ever closer, I hear the shanties sing.

    I press myself into the light, where the singing is loudest, but it will not let me pass.

    This is as far as I can go. I've only begun sailing last weekend, I had no idea such wonders existed beneath the tavern floor. So I've come here to report the bug, the spot where I clipped into this haphazardous discovery. Here posted are the screenshots that prove my tale beyond a shadow of doubt.

    edit: The images don't appear to be showing, but they are there in the code. This mystery draws ever deeper...

    Without spoiling too much, you get access to this area when you reach Pirate Legend. Clipping through the floor when it's not open is a problem and I'm not sure what the exact steps are to reproduce it, but you could submit a ticket to see if they can prevent that from happening.

    @d3adst1ck Forgive my ignorance but how do I submit a ticket? Is there an in-game menu item?

    @black-reiley No, there isn't an in game method. At the top of this site is a link to their support site. Once there, you can search for your issue to see if it's already listed and if not there should be a "Submit Request" button near the bottom.
