Separate servers with expanded crew size

  • As part of a temporary event or separate servers. No alliances on the server:
    Sloop 2 players
    Brigantine 4 players
    Galleon 6 players
    Looking at how many players play, it seems to me that it is not such a big problem to give players the opportunity to play with more friends, at least within a separate server. From 'friendly players' with several ships in the alliance, there are more problems with the game balance.

    Good news, custom servers are in the making. This will allow you to purchase a private creative mode of the game where you can fill the entire server with who ever you want. Naturally as a private server and as a creative mode your pirate will not make any cosmetic progression.

    A sloop already has room for a 2 player crew, it is even the recommended amount of players. If you have 4 players, simply man a galleon and if you are with 6 you might need to divide yourself up in two groups. Simply adding more players to a crew makes the ship to strong and nearly unsinkable in the hands of competent pirates, it is a multiplayer PvEvP game and others need to be able to face you in combat.

  • I know that max 4 crew and no option to join on same server as your friend and make alliance is because of the balance and i respect that, i think that is a really good way to keep balance in game.
    But sometimes i really want that 6-8 player crew, if i play with 1-3 of my friends thats enough but sometimes on weekends when everyone are home there is almost 8 of us and we all want to play together PVE, sailing, exploring, doing quests and becomes frustrating because we need to play separately, there is just that feeling that friends are splitting at that time.
    Adding maybe some new bigger ship for 6 crew would solve the problem or option to join same server as friend or enable option to invite more players on galeon max 6-8 but depend on a number of crew ship will have the debuff. Smaller health, speed etc. so the balance can be still be present. More players than 4 on ship will affect ship status and lower health, speed, damage etc... Example only for ship health, if ship have 1000 health for 4 crew, 5 crew will change to have 900, 6 crew 800, 7 crew 700, 8 crew 600.
    Custom servers are good idea but playing without progress is not something that is enjoyable.

  • @stewcha-kun no need to overthink. just add bigger ships with more players as a separate game mode, starting from galleon as the smallest. that way no nerf would be needed

  • @uzugijin you are right, i saw a lot of people since the game release wanting more than 4 people and that still is not happening, even if to us that sounds like a good idea and we all want it there is probably some big reason why devs dont want that yet.
