ship spawning

  • Ahoy, I'm just wondering why is it that when my ship is sunk by another player it is spawned on there other side of the world. I have been sunk and spawned so far away that there is no hope to get my stuff back, is that just unlucky or is that an annoying game mechanic.

  • Its intended so that you can’t just keep coming back and attacking a boat. This is both for you and your opponent. If you would have sunk the other ship they would have spawned on the other side of the map and you would’ve had time to sell your loot. It really is a good mechanic that keeps people from constantly trying to steal your loot and let’s you have the chance to sell it if you sink your opponent.

  • @theeggoplant kk thanks that makes sense

  • @theeggoplant No! it's a rubbish mechanic that favours server hopper's who go after ship's with loot on board, while they have nothing to loose themselves. There is a big difference between being the defensive ship and winning a fight and being an agressive ship and having to hang around to collect up all the floating loot. Guess who gains the most by being given extra time after a battle? So I would suggest that after one sink the ship respawn's fairly close but after multiple then they should spawn further away.

The mechanic was introduced so that players couldn't just keep coming back to fight for their loot. In the original setting ships that were sunk spawned at the near outpost always.

The thing is that its suppose to spawn you farther away the more times you sank. So first time you sink its suppose to spawn you only like 2 islands away, however, in my experience it seems to be random which I am hating a lot.

When I sink for like the first time in a blue moon I spawn on the opposite side of the map. Now I am not saying I hate the fact that its happening to me, I am saying that because it happens to me almost 100% of the time when I sink that I can only imagine that is what is happening to other players and that is the reason why they never come back to fight.

Like everyone else I hated having to fight the same ship over and over for loot even after I sank them already. Thing is, since the change, no one ever comes to fight back. I might get one random ship that will keep trying but majority of ships just never bother coming back and I would think its because they are spawning so far away that they just lose all hope and so they quit. I don't like that. I hold onto loot for the sake of them coming back and when no one shows up I get disappointed.

Again, I since the game spawns me across the map every time when I sink I figure it gots to happen to other players too and when you spawn soooooooooo far away even when you sink the first time it destroy's any hope for those players to get there loot back.

I hated having to sink the same 3 crews 20 times each in the old days but honestly I would gladly go back to that instead of now because almost no one comes back to fight anymore.

    Sail a brigantine.
Even as a solo its a lot of fun and it ultimately makes you a better sloop pilot.

If you have a cross wind youll be at the other side of the map in no time!

Invite a crew along for your pvp encounter or use some cursed cbs and youll be fine.

game mechanic because people would just come back over and over it was like flameheart before flameheart with the supplies i mean because people would just waste their supplies so that's why one spawns so far away
