I was just sailing in the DR doing an Athena Emmisary with a friend new to SoT - we were a little more than half way through when a solo sloop OoS emmisary showed up and decided not to be friendly. This, I'm fine with. Getting beaten by him was even fine.
What was not fine was the lag he brought with him - 3 seconds to load a cannonball and another 2 for it to appear. When I tried to board his ladder, his ship legit teleported. When my crewmate engaged him, he claimed to have been killed in 1 shot from an EoR.
Even worse, he messaged me after not only to claim victory, but to rub it in. Said he enjoyed the salt and that we were trash.
The irony is that it wasn't skill that won him the day - it was BS. Reported him for his messages, of course.
Lag and rudeness - the w things in online play that genuinely anger me.
