The Kraken world event

  • We all remembered how the kraken was like, the difficulty, the fear knowing the kraken could come up any moment And change the tide of battle before any of us realise that kraken only emerge from the depths when there is no world event which ruin the surprise of it encounter for long time pirates.

    The megalodons does a better job than the kraken as it unpredictability to encounter such beast and could pose an threat to a galleon if given an chance
    (I have not fought the kraken on a galleon for a long time so I do not know how hard she is)

    The kraken event could use an rework such as you could go out of your way to hunt the beast down or it find you no matter if there is an world event happening which would recreate the fear of being krakened at any moment and to help strengthen that fear is to give her a big buff and new movesets like knocking down the mast, the kraken event should be a rare event that happens and the reward should be far greater than anything else to make up for it difficult risky challenge like an loot pool containing many stronghold loots, Rare items, supplies that give food, wood, cannonballs and fish the reward Should give one or more If you are lucky the SHIPWRECK CHEST OF LEGEND (a chest of legend that give half of it value)

  • It could be interesting to turn the Kraken into a player initiated event, similar to the FotD, but where FotD is a land based combat scenario, the Kraken would of course be the sea based equivalent. The reward would probably need to be upped considerably, and a "boss phase" would need to be added into the mix as it pertains to the combat side of the coin. We'd also need to come up with an interesting way for players to go about kicking off the event. We'd also need to be sure the servers could actually handle the stress of, potentially, having 3 events active at the same time (one of the server initiated events, FotD, and the Kraken), though we might be able to work around this by adding a condition that if 2 player initiated events are active the server won't spawn an event as well.

    Still, this could be a very interesting way to shift the situation with the Kraken overall. We could still have the standard event as well, with a condition that it won't spawn when the player activated event is going (so you could still get "surprise" attacked by the Kraken as well). This could potentially satisfy a number of requests we've seen such as making the Kraken more difficult (have this be associated to the player activated version) and showing off the head potentially (this could be part of the "boss phase" of the Encounter).

    There would be a number of considerations to make, but overall I could see this being an interesting approach.
