Um can we do something about Kraken spawning on solo players in sloops cause i was just trying to enjoy my night by myself and a kraken spawns out of all things nearly deleted the game i was so mad. Not mad at yall just it happened
Krakens
You can also turn the ship around and sail out of the ink. It is the quickest route out. It will do a little damage to your ship as you sail out but nothing a few boards won't fix. But the easiest way to deal with it as a solo sloop is focus on killing two tentacles (with cannonballs). Should take less than a minute or two.
Seriously?? Still complaints about the Kraken??
kraken is super easy solo. It takes less time to kill it then it takes for the animation to complete when its spawning.
Hell I think its 8 cannon balls total, 4 on each tentacle??
No reason to get mad, more reasons to get better at the game.
Whats funny is that players are still saying solo sloop is too hard. Solo sloop used to be sooooo much harder lol. Its so easy now.
Tbf the first couple of times I encountered the kraken I was at a bit of a loss as to what to do – the first time I got sucked up and couldn't get myself free, the second I got really tunnel-visioned on slashing a wrapping arm. But then I worked it out. I've only had one more kraken encounter since that time, but it actually left me feeling that it could maybe do with a buff to be interesting...
@aLlStArTeXaS I see you're even newer than me, so it's fair enough you didn't immediately know how to defeat the kraken. The game doesn't exactly hold your hand, and while that's a good thing in general, it does mean a certain amount of trial and error before working out the best way of going about some things.
So yes, a kraken spawned on a sloop is defeated after you kill 2-3 tentacles, requiring about 4 cannonball hits on each (I think hitting the head of an arm does more damage, but, erm, my aim isn't quite up to rigorous testing of that. Yet.). Altogether, pretty easy to defeat once you know how; the greater difficulty is gathering the widely distributed loot.
It should be possible to defeat the kraken first and worry about repairs later. Something I've realized recently is just how quickly you can bail out a sloop – use that to your advantage and don't get stuck on unnecessary repairs.
Good luck out there!
@allstartexas a dit dans Krakens :

Oh no stop, come on... The Sloop Kraken is the easiest enemy of the game. Stop. Just stop.

No worries; Kraken's are considerably tougher if you're sailing a Brig or Galleon, which may be the source of your info.
Krakens can also be overwhelming for new players since they don't know how to avoid/escape from each of its attacks. This is important, as you probably will sink if you get sucked up or don't know how free your ship should it get wrapped.
- If you see dust flying around your screen, go below deck; the kraken is trying to suck you up.
- If a tentacle wraps your ship, another tentacle will pop up in front of one of your cannons (you can ID it because it's low in the water and close to your ship relative to the other tentacles). Shoot it with a cannon, it'll go back underwater and pop up on the opposite side. Repeat 2 or 3 times and it'll let your ship go.
Next time a Kraken attacks your sloop, give it a good thrashing!
@allstartexas No worries! Krakens and megalodons both scale in difficulty according to the kind of ship they spawn against. The SoT Gamepedia wiki is a good spot for more info :)
Don't listen to this guy @LimbicFanatic - listen to him about his tips though, don't listen to him when he says its harder on the bigger ships.....well it is but not really. Fine listen to him but listen to me too lol.
Kraken is easy no matter the ship you sail.
If you have the cannonballs for it you can kill it in less than 5minutes.
Galleon is the only one that is relatively an issue is because eventually near the end you'll have to turn your boat to hit the last 2 tentacles because they won't spawn on the sides of the boat.
Brig and Sloop are easy. Galleon is just annoying.
Sloop you need at most 20 cannon balls. It takes 8 to kill the Kraken but factoring in shooting other tentacles or missing if you can't cannon that well.
For the brig its about 80 or so. It takes 48 to kill, 8 cannon hits per tentacle and you need to kill 6. Factoring missing or other tentacles, usually takes 80 cannon balls.
Galleon is about 100 or so. It takes 64, 8 per tentacle for 8 tentacles.
Doesn't focus on sword swiping or using your gun. Just use cannon balls.
The kraken is so easy that my crew and I debate whether or not we want to waste time and supplies on it. "We want to kill it??" - "I mean we can, shouldn't take long, but we'll have to replace the cannon balls" - "eh, not worth it then"
Sometimes we kill it for the kraken meat and we gather the loot even when fighting it.
Trust me, the kraken is SUPER easy. Just look up the guides. I have one on my youtube channel. The kraken was a little harder back then but still super easy. You can find it, just youtube xultanisdragon

EDIT: also, I didn't know you had a YouTube account! Kinda makes one wonder how many other people on this forum talk about SoT on YouTube...
