I'm not proposing battle royale don't worry.
But you know how those games have seasons and they usually have a little cinematic or something and a part of the map gets destroyed or opened or closed and for the next few months we have a very familiar but slightly new map?
Perhaps they could do something similar in sea of thieves.
They could do stuff like shift the shroud to make some island appear and others disappear.
They could have a cinematic battle between flameheart and bilge rats and make a ship graveyard region somewhere in the existing map.
Perhaps an outpost could be overrun with Skeletons for a month and there are voyages to free and liberate it back?
Perhaps a cinematic of two pirates fighting could be on one month, a stray shot hits the Galleon on Galleons grave knocking it off revealing a door down inside the outpost revealing a secret dungeon, or just a secret area.
In all honesty, it doesn't matter what my suggestions are and to be honest they probably aren't the best. But the main suggestion, such as little map changes with a story behind them that persists a few months would be cool.
I guess sailing the same map for 2 years, it would be nice to have a little mystery brought back. Change things up a little.
Goes without saying.
Being part of these events would also create some exclusive and time limited titles.
Were around when flameheart's took over golden sands? Unlock The Golden Sands Champion title etc etc.
Of course each seasonal change would need to maintain balance in the game, it's important afterall.
But sea of thieves has enough Lore and enough game mechanics to feasibly switch things up a lot and still keep the core loop intact.
All depends on how creative they can be :)
