The Drunken Mermaid Tavern, The Bilge rat tavern

  • Summary,
The Drunken Mermaid Tavern would be an official tavern for all of us bilge rats to call home, and a place for all of us to finally spend millions of gold.

I had got the idea of the Drunken Mermaid from page 77 in 'The Art of The Sea of Thieves,' it was a sailing tavern known as the Drunken Mermaid, I always thought that be the perfect tavern for the Bilge rats.
With a lot of the veteran players like myself having millions of gold to spend this tavern is what we kind of need. Nothing in this tavern will be cheap, it will give us older players something to spend are gold and deblums on, as well as give new players something to work for.
My issue that I've always seen is that there are every bite of three hundred commendations in the game, but your average player only work on the commendations that either unlock a cool title or unlock in-game items, let's fix that.
The Bilge rats is a community of pirates that are out for adventure, your commendations are your adventures on the waves building your reputation.
We all know Duke will eventually make a return to the tavern one day, Duke was the face of just the Bilge rats, Duke would of course be at the Drunken Mermaid to represent the normal bilge rats, but Duke would only be selling his black market nothing else, we then have the Scurvy Bilge rat, an ex gold hoarder who had more of a greed for adventure than of gold. Then we would have the Castaway Bilge rat, an ex Madam of the Order of Souls, who seeks out to find the adventures and make a few of her own. There's also the Rotten Bilge rat, an old Senior Trader of the Merchant Alliance, who always was late with cargo do to being lost or sidetracked by the site of adventure. And that is just the Bilge rats, there's more than that, we have a sailor that is following in his mentors foot steps, or should I say stub steps, but was more out to hunt down the legendary monsters of the deep, he sails as the shark hunter. With the Sea Dog's tavern closing its doors, we got a rogue Sea Dog out for the thrill of a fight, only being known as the Mercenary, his adventures weren't ended when the arena doors closed, they only began. Now this is a true threat that no one trust, not liking how his others in the union would run from a fight he went rogue, being inevitable to most he continued to wander the sea's, until becoming shipwrecked with the bilge rats, being untrusted by all he is known as the Reaper, him and the Mercenary will duel to see who is better at a fight.
Finally bringing me to are last three people in the tavern, there's a strange figure that lies in the shadows of the ship, her name is Gloria, an ex sailor of the Athena fortune. Of course, this wouldn't be a true tavern without a tavern keeper, Umbra, who is always excited to hear more stories of adventure. Bringing me to our last pirate, head of the Bilge rats Larinna.
The tavern itself would be the wreck of what remains of the Drunken Mermaid, which would be another ship set to unlock, it be rammed into Lagoon of Whispers.
The reason why I broke up the different companies is to then bring back old Bilge rat events. For example, the Castaway Bilge rat would have the old Dark Relics voyage, the Rotten Bilge rat would have the Black powder stashes, the Reaper would have the old Reaper Runs, so on. All of the commendations across all companies would unlock weapons, equipment, clothing, and ship cosmetics. For example, completing the 'Festival of the Damned' would unlock "the damned" equipment and weapons, completing the 'Fort of the Damned' would unlock the damned outfit, NOT costume, and ship set, which the ship would be based on the Ferry of the Damned. All of that is just for them two updates, there be more than just that.
Now like I said at the beginning, this would all be stuff for veteran players to dump gold into, and for new players to work for. With saying that, the cheapest any of it would be is At Least 100,000 gold a piece, which would only be clothing, weapons, and equipment. The ship set's would go for At Least 1,000,000 gold a piece. Again all of this would be for the older players who need stuff to spend gold on, and for new players to work for, none of it will be easy to get, and all of it would be unlocked through old commendations that players don't work on most the time.
In all honesty I personally would like to see this one way or another, I have hit the point where I have nothing to really work for, because I have unlocked and brought everything in the game, and that's just from playing maybe a few hours a week, for two and a half years, and I'm still sitting at 8.3 million. I know the plunder pass is coming which will keep me busy for a bit. But still, does not help with the gold issue, I'm just hoping they put something like this in.
    Thanks for reading this far.
