One you have nearly every skin in game gold becomes useless cause you can't spend them. Then pve and pvp steal becomes useless cause what's the point of doing voyage and stealing when you can't even spend your gold. No one would enjoy doing voyage just for the sake of it same for pvp. No point of sinking other people ship just for the sake of sinking them. If you choose to alliance your going to be doing pve again with the other crew that you already done it thousand times already. I am suggesting some type of buy able consumable(crates, supplies, etc) or in-game lotto system that's able to eat up gold for those of us who doesn't have any items to spend gold on since we already got them. For content rare should give us the tools to create our own adventure island and use our own gold for the treasures. Or just add +2-5 more ships per server
Gold problem and content

This, right here, is where you are indelibly wrong.
There are gameplay balance reasons why you can't buy supplies or crates.
The servers, with everything they have to calculate, also can't currently handle more than 6 ships at a time.
@galactic-geek I am saying if the loot isn't what your looking for and pvp is then what's the point of sinking other people ship over and over again? And most of the time they are going to be running non stop

For fun! That's obvious! And if they can effectively outrun you, then you're not doing it right.
@galactic-geek what's the point of chasing a sloop against win with no loot in it for like 1-2 hours straight just to sink them in 5 mins? Where's the fun in that?

A chase cannot take 1-2 hours unless you're incredibad and the ship you're chasing is extremely good.
And as for your OP, you're right about one thing, and wrong about another:
- Right one - gold really becomes useless at some point.
- Wrong one - steals, chases, pvp, and in many cases voyages are done for fun. It's all about the adventure, not the gold.

First, you don't chase anyone for 1-2 hours - it's a waste of time. Secondly, you don't have to chase - you simply stalk them. Put the fear in them, as it were. If they want to complete their voyages, they'll have to slow down, stop, or turn at some point. Remember, they don't want to be chased for hours either - if they're not fighting, or scuttling and/or switching servers to avoid PvP when they don't have loot, then they're doing it wrong. As the chaser, there's no telling whether they have loot or not until they're sunk, boarded, or you have a glint in your spyglass.
Self motivation and enough imagination to creates one's own adventure is required to enjoy the game long term
People are going to fall overboard from boredom that's just going to happen. As a pver I don't need gold and most of my commendations are done so I don't need to sink skelly ships and take out megs on a daily basis or check shipwrecks or do events I do it because I enjoy it. Most serious pvpers don't need athenas or the loot they steal they do it because they enjoy it. We don't need prizes constantly dangled in front of our ships we know how to have a good time without it
There are plenty of things for casual gamers to buy and those of us that grind a lot are always going to have more gold than we can spend which is why we have commendations we can chase for titles
A lot of us that have no use for gold but love double gold weekend and level 5 emissaries and the 2 hours a day we get more gold because a pirate can never have too much gold. Nothing wrong with some good old fashioned gold hoarding
There is always something to do in this game. It might not make everyone happy but everyone can't be pleased.
@purecandy1 I usually dont give a bilge rat's you know what about gold or doubloons. I join the alliance just to have some fun and always give away all the loot simply because I dont need it. So, i do enjoy voyages just for th sake of them. Sure many others do too.
But if you have that problem with the gold, I've got an answer for you.
Exchange it. You can obtain an ashen key, buy an ashen chest quest for 60k gold or smth like that, dig the chest up, open it and sell the loot. You spend gold, you get doubloons.@eddie-koleno like I said if I already have all the ashen set why would I want to spend gold or doubloons on it? I just feel like there's nothing you can do with the loot after you get most of the skins/items. If you want me to dump all my gold and doubloons on ashen items then that's just pretty boring to do PVP/PvE and then to dump it somewhere else.
@purecandy1 I made a post similar to this a while back that has turned into a "what is the best pie" post. The player base is divided. The players like you and me who enjoy having an objective. We enjoy sinking people because of the reward. Once gold and doubloons become essentially useless this game becomes pointless.
Some players like the one's commenting here enjoy that pointlessness and thrive on having nothing to work for anymore because they are comfortable being at the top of their perceived "I beat the game now I can chill" mentality.
Once you hit max levels and have millions of gold and thousands of doubloons this game goes from "objective based" to "casual".
For players like us we enjoy having an incentive . Where as other players just enjoy the roleplay aspect of the game.
Players like us have fun when we want something of actual value. We will only chase the cheese if we know we can have it. Where as the other half of the players dont even want the cheese. They just want to run on the wheel.
Both are okay.
But its not okay for the passive casual gamers who are deprived of dopamine to demonize players that want Rare to add more objectives.
Just remember, when you post on here you're going to be debating with PvE kids who feel complete ecstasy from fishing.
For those of you that dont want the game to add literally anymore content and would be comfortable staring at a pig run across a beach for 9 hours, keep your thoughts to yourself on posts that want gold digs because honestly this forum is about feedback and suggestions not "let's figure out ways to stop the dev's from considering any feedback or suggestions because I want the game to stay absolutely the same forever"
For those of you that love this game and want to see it keep on improving through time, keep up the feedback and suggestions. 👍
I enjoy doing PvP for the sake of it, its thrilling and can get intense but I do think having some skins that require putting in gold and time to earn would be cool and having harder voyages that actually cost more money like a Athena voyage costs something like 180 gold (idk how much exactly) but its pre-much free there needs to be cheap voyages with smaller loot potential if your bankrupt and then way more expensive voyages, I personally do barely any voyages because they are not worth your time compared to events

Has OP tried Arena? It sounds like just what they need right now.
Arenas fun but the matchmaking for the first match is too mentally painful to do
