Will Xbox Series S have the ability to purchase Sea of Thieves

From what I understand, if you already own it through the Microsoft store then you should not have to repurchase it. If you own it via Steam then you probably do need to purchase it. The new Xbox will have the ability to purchase Xbox titles if you need to buy it again. It looks like the interface is very similar to the current Xbox interface, just with better hardware. They say our currently owned Xbox titles should run on the new systems.

There is only 1 version of the game to buy.
Smart delivery will automatically choose the best options for the console you are playing on.
And it cost you nothing extra.

(Own the game once on Xbox digitally and play on Xbox 1/S/X Series S/X)

You already own it, right? This game is "Play anywhere"...so if you bought it on MS store you can play it wherever you want, on PC, XBox One, SeriesX...just log in with your profile

There was also no mention of the Microsoft Store either. And others with either version may come across this thread, so I am covering all possibilities.

EDIT: I see it now. It was subtle and my morning eyes missed it. They said the “Series S store”which I also would interpret as the Xbox or Microsoft store.

Feel better? Good. So here is what I imagined. A player who currently owns and plays the game via Steam. They see the new Xbox hype and decide they are getting one. But wait! They own the game on Steam. They ask themselves, “Do I need to buy it again? Will it even be available on the new Xbox? Hmmm. I’d better ask on the forums.” I see the post and think, “They say the game is their favorite, but I am not sure what platform. If they play it on an Xbox or through the Microsoft app then they are already good to go. If they have it on Steam then they will need to buy it for the Xbox. I should be specific. Besides, someone else later might get confused like they originally did when it was released on Steam.” I realized my error as the caffeine hit and added an EDIT to a post to acknowledge all this... And then you come along and post your wonderful contribution. Again, do you feel better now?
