New pve arena mode

  • It would be cool if there was a kraken arena mode. You and 4 other ships are set in an arena slightly smaller than the sea dogs arena. Everywhere in the arena the water is black. You and the 4 other ships must work together to kill this massive kraken. If you try shooting your cannon at another ship the ball will dissapear on contact causing no damage. Trying to melee pvp wont do any damage either. There are 5 tiers of kraken. A tier 1 kraken is the same strength as a normal one. Kill 10 of these and you get to move on to tier 2 eventually reaching tier 5 which needs 30 cannon shots to kill 1 tentacle. To advance to another tier you have to defeat the kraken and come first with the most anount of damage done to it. You can choose if you want to play with sloops brigies or galleons (like the sea dogs arena) killing a tier 1 kraken will give gold and killing a tier 5 kraken will give you dibloons but not alot. At the start of the battle you will start with the same amount of stuff as the sea dogs arena.

  • @toast-ghost1323 First of all Rare needs to properly balance normal arena before doing this. Second of all while this does kind of cool I doubt many people would play it.
    Third of all this game does not need another mode to split players up therefore making queue times and steals even worse.

  • @toast-ghost1323 No, just no. Arena -much like the Reapers Bones- is a PvP faction. Adding a whole entire sub mode into it that is fully PvE just ruins the fact it’s a PvP game mode. This idea is just terrible. Who knows, maybe in the future when the playerbase is even bigger or some updates even bring in lore about the sea dogs and how some of them are rebellious.
    Maybe Carlos is the rebellious one. Asking if your dead and what not.

  • @toast-ghost1323 Wouldnt that get boring after awhile? Rare would constantly have to update it with new PvE threats that are bigger and better than the last one since there are no player threats. I think while yes that idea does sound kinda cool , it would ultimately suck up far too much time and resources from the dev team.

  • Not to be offensive but this sounds boring, I fought a Krakken for the 1st time a couple of days ago in my sloop, it took 4 hits total(2 per arm) and then went away. so I would just be doing more of that, for longer in this mode? why? all it does is slap your ship or pull you into the air till you sink or die. its exciting when it randomly happens and your not prepared but not as a constant mode that just makes it a cannon ball sponge.

    I personally would prefer the devs to add more to the adventure mode or do/add/fix things with Arena. not make a bullet(cannon ball) sponge mode with Krakkens.

  • Karen fights are already tedious. I couldn't imagine doing the same thing 10 times would be at all enjoyable. There's only two aspects to fighting a kraken-hitting it with cannons and repairing the ship.

    By contrast, ghost/skelly ships have some degree of AI and challenges that makes them a little more interesting. Sure, at it's heart it's about shooting and repairing-but you also have to sail, and sailing adds a little more complexity to the fight.
