Recently i reported a crew for being extremely toxic towards me after being on a server for just 5 minutes. [Mod edit] I am now starting to believe them. I have played this game since alpha but no more i am sick of being completly ignored and the lack of punishment from rare. You allow these players to ruin the game for those of us who just play for fun. As much as i love SoT i have had enough. I give feed back and report toxic players as you say you "take every toxic report very seriously" clearly not. Proof of this is on my xbox profile as these forums will not allow me to share images.

@blam320 in game they have all the control. They said this to me them self in the report. Xbox have control on an account level so the messages they have been sending me for over a week on multiple accounts have been reported to microsoft. The stuff i reported to rare was all said in game chat. This is up to rare to deal with. But all they did was give them a 24 hour ban

@closinghare208 thats not what it is at all but unfortunatly a mod already removed what they said from my original post so i obviously can't say it here. They were screamimg homophobic stuff in voice chat while spamming text chat with a lot of toxic stuff for over an hour.
@octopus-lime i did have it in the original post mate but a mod removed it because its not suitable for the forums. So im not going to post it again. Basically saying a lot of toxic stuff name calling with vulgar language in text chat. While screaming homophobic remarks in text chat.
@blam320 In support tickets you have the option to report players, now, Rare never answers you a resolution.

Sorry, @rederz13 it was me who removed the comments, as you can imagine even though you are quoting someone and self censored yourself - we try keep social spaces as clean and family friendly as possible, which I am sure you can appreciate meant I had to remove the quotes.
If it is happening in, in game voice/text chat - please continue to report these players via the support tool (Contact Support). It is only by players like yourself reporting that the seas will be rid of these bad apples.
If it is happening outside of the game but via xbox Party/Messages then please report this to Microsoft who will be able to issue voice comms/text chat bans as appropriate.

I do so understand not attacking you but you should take a break from this game and the internet for a week and I had depression as well it's bad I know but you'll get to a better place and get help if you need the help

@iii-porker-iii yeah i know mate. I just wanted to get the proof to use in a report so they didnt get away with it. But they got away with it anyway so was just a load of extra stress for nothing. Im taking some time away from the game as much as i love it. In future im not even going to report it because it achieves nothing. Im just going to leave and move on.
@rederz13 you can turn off gamechat and text chat from other players. then you wont have to worry about the toxic behavior.
There are some real lowlife pond dwelling cretins out there mate, you'll find them everywhere unfortunately from time to time, it's just so easy from behind the anonymity of a keyboard. It will catch up with them one day, it always does one way or another, believe me.. Chin up dude!

That's awful mate, if you have proof of them being horrible Rare should ban them from the game at least.
This game is extremely toxic and it shows in the severe drop off in playerbase. If you dont believe me take a look at steam charts for the PC playerbase https://steamcharts.com/app/1172620
In 3 months the game has lost 20k players on the PC side and the reason is the same thing every toxic player flames, toxic behavior and the need to sink ships on sight.
If your a solo player its impossible to do anything in game as you cant watch your back and any in game event like ashen lord or a vault requires 3 at least. 2 to raid the vault and 1 to watch the ship. In any fight the more people on the ship the better advantage you have so a solo sloop all you can do is run, you cant repair, shoot, and repel invaders at the same time not to mention brigs and galleys have more cannons so a full sloop is still outmatched.
You have brigs that circle around world events such as ashen lords waiting to kill anyone who comes close (without even doing the event) just foir the sake of sinking ships. Ive also seen players hide their own ship and camp on the island just to raid a ship and spawncamp, or bring a powder keg onboard for the sake of sinking it.
The quality of life in this game is so pi$$ poor people are leaving in droves and Rare doesnt attempt to do anything to solve the problems constantly brought up. Unless Rare finally puts their foot down and does a quality of life update and takes action this game wont be around long.@darkzero3802 you can easily solo many aspects of this game. forts, vaults, voyages, and much more. ashen lords are a bit more difficult solo as your boat takes a beating when you die. sink on sight has been the way this game has always been played. if anything there are more people willing to play nice now than when the game launched.
You are wrong. It is up 5 places to No 15 this week in most played games on MS charts. Keep on cherry picking yer figures though..

@darkzero3802 I became a PL & PL 10 no lfg,no open crew, no Emissary, only solo sloop and my experience was different. I was forced to become a good player. I have sank gallies, rolled up on ships at outposts on a rowboat, stole their loot & supplies and rowed back to my ship. Yes you have to keep watching your boat constantly or sell every two islands. But it is possible. It's a pirate game, there have been times when I was solo slooping and I lost a few captain chests and couldn't stop thinking about it & stopped playing for days because not only was my loot stolen but so was the time invested. It took me a while to emotionally and mentally adapt but when I did I became a lot more clever, and lot more worrisome about stacking loot, and very good at using harpoon/ knowing locations in the world that can use a sloops mobility to out maneuver a Galleon like the arena in the center of the map by Reaper's Hideout.
@travis354 i gave proof buddy but sadly only resulted in a 24 hour ban. I just don't see the point of a 24 hour ban they probably didnt even play the game for them 24 hours. Just way too small of a punishment in my opinion.
@darkzero3802 sorry buddy but im against actual toxic behaviour not PVP. I feel that toxic behaviour is more down to what people say in a fight rather than what they do. I have no problem with losing fights or even being spawn camped as its just part of the process of being sunk. I love a good fight but the people i fight on this game take it super personal and start telling me to kill myself and just hurl insults. In the last week i have been told to kill myself 4 times simply just for fighting someone. Now that is toxic.
@ajm123 thats the wrong screenshot buddy i didnt even report that one. It turned out to be the guys little brother using his PC without him knowing. The account owner was actually a really friendly guy.
But either way im feeling much better today the messages seem to have finally stopped. And i can start to move on from this whole situation. These guys just pushed me too far and ive honestly never had anyone make me feel that way. Thank you for all the understanding people in the community. I know i come across as a bit of an over reacting idiot at times with my feedback and thats something i need to work on. You guys are always awesome and have great discussions with me 90% of the time. Thank you again.
@wagstr thank you dude. I have no doubt these players will be banned one day. They just come across as the type of people who will do this stuff over and over till they get banned.
@rederz13 It's really tough when your mood takes a nosedive and everywhere you look you only seem to find bad things and even worse things. Just remember that there's more people out there that want to spread positivity than there is who spread toxicity, it's just that the ones who spread positivity do it quietly and in the shadows.
I can tell from your posts that you're more resiliant than you're giving yourself credit for. It takes courage to speak out when you're at your lowest ebb and it takes strength to admit that things aren't going well for you.
Sometimes I just take a break from online interactions when I'm struggling to see the good in anything. The Sea will still be here for you to sail when you feel better, and you will feel better. Nothing lasts forever, not even darkness. Draw your circle close and reach out to the people you can rely upon, be they friends, family or professional. You aren't expected to shoulder all of life's burdens on your own.
You can't expect yourself to have the patience to deal with the sort of degenerates that you occasionally meet online when you've only barely got enough mental energy to keep your head up. So, go easy on yourself and do your best to stay strong. I'll bet you've weathered harsher storms than this in the past and you'll weather this one too.
