Cancelling XBox Game Pass -- progress lost?

    So XBox Game Pass is doubling in price (from $5 to $10/month) and I'll probably cancel. I know I can buy the game through Microsoft and probably keep my progress, but I can get the game cheaper on Ebay by buying a download card. I play on PC / Windows 10. Would my progress by saved if I cancel the Game Pass and re-buy with the download card?

    AFAIK your pirate is linked to your MS account; if you buy the new one with the same MS account as you use for Game Pass, it shouldn't be a problem.

    @clovenarrow2206 Yes. Since it's an Xbox game your save data is always synced in the cloud using the Microsoft Account linked with your Gamertag. Wherever you sign in with the same account, your save will download and you can continue where you left off, whatever the game and regardless of if it's Game Pass, digital copy, or on disc.

    The game is currently on sale on MS store for 50% off and on Steam for 30% off if you're looking for a deal. No matter what store you buy it on, if you log in with the same XBox/Microsoft account you'll still have the same pirate.

    Gamepass ultimate is well worth it imo
