I think it would be great if we could buy bait at the outposts or at least increase the RNG on the bait that spawns in the barrels and crates at fishing outposts. I find the RNG on digging for bait to be sporadic.

@gleaminx i dont know if you know this but just throwing it out there in case it helps, you can dig for bait in the following manner
- leeches dig on the shoreline close to the water
- earthworms dig in grassy areas
- grubs dig in sandy areas
@callmebackdraft Thank you for your help. I did know that. Hunter's Call is just a nasty grind to complete the commendations.
@gleaminx oh yes, i am very aware of the commendation grind for HC especially since the only thing im currently working on is 100% commendation completion (lvl capped in all factions and got all cosmetics and more gold then Rare can put out cosmetics for in over a year)
The way i am currently going around completing HC is shipwrecks, its still rng but at least i dont have to go trough a million fishing mini games which become tedious very quick and i can work on other comms that way at the same time
@callmebackdraft Ditto, I'm level capped in everything except for Sea Dogs and own every cosmetic in the game that I can buy. Currently, I have enough gold and doubloons to probably buy everything over again. Commendations is the only lifeblood left for me.
@gleaminx @CallMeBackdrafT just wait till you have "Legendary Hunter of the Sea of Thieves" in game but not the achievement. This is where I find myself.
Bait isnt sporadic it's about 100% drop rate but ONLY if your holes are spaced about 1 to 1.5 holes apart.
Otherwise the drop rate is about 0%
I can get about 10 bait in 12 shovels using this method.
Repeatedly.
I stock up on 30 bait in the time it takes me to also clear the starter island of supplies.
