Plunderers of the Abyss - Deeper Underwater Activities

  • Please start making deeper ocean underwater activities.

At first it can just be swimming to air pockets that are far enough down that you need to eat pineapples to reach.

Also. The deeper you go makes you get Narked when you breathe from air pockets.

Make it like drunkenness but not as extreme but with tunnel vision.

Heck just make a whole new release - Plunderers of the Abyss

Release the Anti-Reaper Emissary with this 😈

It can actually be voyages/quests related to the Anti-Reaper Emissary who exist to recover lost and stolen property due to piracy.

And their voyages involve complex deep water salvage and exploring.

Imagine exploring ancient tombs, capsized ships, a new type of "island" - the seamount, including a graveyard of ships. Acquiring diving bells, tying lifting bags to sunken salvage, and fighting deep sea monsters including a new world event.

    The Leviathan.

Lurking among the bones of Galleons, you have to attack it deep under water to hook it with ropes to your ship to raise it from the depths for a final battle.

It could possibly be the first alliance required battle, because it perhaps needs 2 Galleons, 3 Brigs, or 4 Sloops to raise.

Ships drop their anchors. Once the ropes are attached, raising the anchors raises the Leviathan some, so depending on ship size the anchors raise the beast.

If a new larger ship class is intended..then one of those would raise the Leviathan.

  • Additional feature to add.

Spear for spear fishing. And special type of fish that have to be speared.

  • I really love this idea. I don't care too much for the anti-reaper emissary because I feel like this idea could be pretty easily tied to Hunter's Call! Looting shipwrecks is (for me) such an integral part of repping Hunter's. Deep water salvage and recovering lost plunder just goes hand in hand with that imo. I've always loved the idea of HC being fierce hunters who also don't like to see anything go to waste, using whatever they find during their long hunting voyages on the ocean to survive/repair/build/improvise. "Plunderers of the Abyss" and "Hunters of the Deep," I mean, its the same domain.

I love seeing suggestions for Leviathan, too. I've been hoping to see it in the future. I really like your idea for fighting it, too. Sounds awesome!

Diving deep w/ heals shouldn't be any trouble for a proper scavenging bilge rat anyway. My pirate spends 80% of the time swimming or underwater lol. I would love to see a deep ocean expansion like this!

    I love your reply.

I think the lynchpin of this is the Leviathan. I really like the idea of it and how to fight it too. The first truly cooperative battle sea creature that doesnt even bother surface dwellers so it's like an awe inspiring event when happens.

And I like the idea of skill, not attributes, required to reach the deeps.

As a player who spends most time in water. Is there a lot of reason to be there or is the ocean deeps mostly empty?

Eh, it's a bit of a personal preference really. I like to do a lot of traveling by less conventional means than ship because it's interesting and fun for me. Looting shipwrecks is really the only underwater activity currently, there's not much else going on down there for players aside from maybe unique island seabeds to explore like ones w/ reefs. As for shipwrecks, I find swimming around in them and exploring (even though they're all the "same") fun and sometimes challenging, like when they're very deep and upside down. Underwater is just a different world and I like it better in a lot of ways. I'm the same way irl so I guess it's just a personality trait haha.
