So i have took a 3 month break from Sea of Thieves and im thinking about returning, is there anything new in the game or has it not really changed?
Is this game still worth playing?
@Travis354
The game is what you make of it.
its better with a good crew. There are new events basically every month so there is certainly new stuff. There is always the @NeedSmokes method of hunting down cosmetics, which i like to do as well but more passively.
I try to advise people to have a goal but don't think you HAVE to do that.
Sometimes the seas have other things in mind, sometimes you spend all night fighting one ship , other times you dont see a soul.@hunglykabear said in Is this game still worth playing?:

Well, there's your Summer event which gets you a lot of the Courage set, the Meg Hunter's event for the Shrouded Ghost ship set, and you missed a chance to get the Bear Et Bird and Spinal figureheads via Twitch.

Im not positive on the dates but they have added some extra cannon ball options, that can also be treated as grenades. that might have been added before you quit tho
Firebombs?
Your question implies that you found the game seriously lacking three months ago. There has been a couple of new things added since, but if the game three months ago could not hold your interest, I doubt the new stuff will entertain you for more than a day or two.
Don't bother returning. Wait another two years. By then, perhaps, the game will be rich enough to keep you entertained.
The rest of us will enjoy this rich, brilliant game just as it is.

Geez....ok........ I stopped playing sot because i have been focusing on other games not because it isn't entertaining so don't jump to conclusions.
Your coming across quite toxic by the way you say

and how you follow up with

It sounds like your implying that i'm just never satisfied with the game the way you say "The rest of us will enjoy this rich, brilliant game just as it is."
I was honesty asking a simple question to this nice community with the exception of you of course. 😊
In the last three months, the two major additions to the game are two world events: Flameheart and his skeleton fleets, and the Ashen Lords.
But, they are still just a small part of the game. In any three month period, the game will grow and evolve, but it will not fundamentally change.
If you enjoy the game as much as you say, you would just dive in and play and see what is new for yourself. Or you could read the release notes, or seek out Rare's Content Update trailers on YouTube:
Posts such as yours usually come from people who want the game to be something completely different than what it is. They want it to be radically different from when they last played it. They often want a different game!
The title of your post asks the question:
Is this game still worth playing?
My answer is: It totally is. It never stopped being worth playing.
