I have done that. I don’t want to constantly despawn my cat

I see this play out daily with my kids.. Laugh with them and they'll soon get bored and stop.

They liked it, yes the cat screams when it happens but when he returns he had a great time. Cats are just a bit stubborn like that just like real life cats, at first they want you to pet them and then 10 seconds later they can be like “my claws will rip you apart right now”

Look at this little guy, tell me this is not horrible torture! He even suffers from stockholm syndrome and asks for more. Brainwashed, I say!

Ever try asking your crewmate not to? Seems like an easier solution than asking Rare to make a new menu option.

I would understand if one took issue with others "torturing" their pets if their problem was torture itself... not that others were doing it. If it's so wrong to shoot your poor fur baby out of a cannon, why should you get to do such a thing?

Next, it's one thing to get frustrated with open crews being obstinate or disobedient. But your own friends? C'mahn.

In my group, we always mess with each other. Especially in long, inactive stretches of sailing or waiting. We'll sometimes throw blunderbombs at each other; mess with cannon angles at the last second before someone shoots out; purposefully sail/harpoon the ship into rocks. It's all in good fun.

That being said, I do have my pet peeves (pardon the pun). My friends know what they are, as I've explained them either in private conversations, or with a tone of seriousness in public. So, they know where to draw the line between what is fun and what isn't.

This all boils down to communication, or the lack of it.

If your friends aren't listening to you, they may be playfully messing with you, not understanding how serious you are. If they do understand you're being serious, and they continue to not listen to you, knowing it genuinely frustrates you... then I wouldn't call them friends =\

In any case, this seems like an issue between you folks and your friends; not something that Rare would need to re-code or re-design to fix through a menu option.

????You consider someone firing your pet out of the cannon "toxic"? Oh my, that is rich. Rude and annoying perhaps, but definitely not toxic as it is just good, clean fun and hurts no one (not even your cat). And definitely not a reason to make them untouchable to other players.

FYI - I have a friend I play with and this bothers him when someone does it, but he just skips out on those players who don't respect his pet and looks for different crew mates when this happens in open crew. You should adopt a similar policy if this bothers you that much instead of campaigning to change the game for such a minor thing.

I wouldn't go so far as to say firing a cat from a cannon in a cartoon like video game is 'toxic', especially when it immediately returns unharmed. Childish maybe if they have been asked not to, but not toxic.. Video games do tend to bring out the child in anyone though..

I love going up to ships sometimes and shooting my cats out the cannons, it a really confuses them.

Anyways I can be for this only and only because pets are pretty much paid for with real money unless with ancient coin but I mean I think its safe to say most are just buying them with real money so if someone doesnt want someone touching their pet that they bought then there could be an option to turn off pet interaction.

Oh with all that said though, is this really such a big issue that Rare should bother wasting their time and resources on? Most likely no, its not.

Also if you are playing with a crew who cant respect your wishes maybe the issue is your crew and not the game. Maybe find other people to play with if this really bothers you that much.

Like I told @CoffeeLight5545 seems like more of a friend issue to me. Im not saying that to be mean either, trust me I have had my fair share of friends I stopped gaming with over the years for various reasons, no different than real life.

Oh please, get some thicker skin as it is in no way "toxic". People like yourself throwing that word around for every annoyance they encounter is making the word lose all meaning. Childish, rude and annoying perhaps but definitely not "toxic". And the solution to your "problem" already exists...play with different people if they annoy you like this, as I stated above. No need to waste time and resources on such a trivial thing that affects pretty much no one and definitely hurts no one.
