Inaccessible hideouts/locked content

  • I haven't seen this to be the case yet, so correct me if wrong...

But it would be cool if some islands were very well guarded and the only way you could get close or dock/anchor was to be what that hideout was for.

Such as a pirate legend. If you're not a pirate legend the hideout would be unfriendly to you and attack you visciously.

Maybe include a response ship that Sails from its port and can be sunk for additional achievements but are manned by NPC persons and can bail water so they are "higher level" content and ruins your standings/achievements with that hideout?

  • @idneon What if you're a ship with a PL and the rest of the crew weren't PLs? Would the non-PLs get a free pass?

I think that's fair. It makes the access more unique and "tradable".

Not a lot of things to trade for in this game yet it seems.

Access to content that is earned by questing seems appropriate

  • Not only could this content add prestige to whatever player achieves the access.

But there can be even more prestige in being recognized completing challenges that require infiltration and stealing something from the outposts while not a member.

A non member in your crew stealing such an item would cause you yourself to lose access or standing (maybe before losing access outright).

This could expand to siege and defend the hideouts/Forts or whatever they will be.

So you'll see a world mark in the clouds that denotes a siege occurring and if you have the standings then you can gain more achievements defending the place.

So it just creates many more player interaction possibilities?
