Press and Hold vs. Tapping Inputs

  • Wouldn't it be nice if we could use a "press and hold" option to hotkey certain functions on a controller? I was just thinking about how I wish I could hotkey text chat to down on the dpad and have the emotes on the same input, but by holding it down instead. This could easily double the number of hotkeys for controller users, further bringing them closer to parity with mouse and keyboard users.

    Thoughts? 🤔

    Or I suggest you a chatpad, if you play on cross-play server, you can keybind everything onto there...

    I had a chat pad once, but I ironically threw it out when it didn't work with SoT back in the early days...

  • I was thinking about this a couple months ago. When they made the chat wheel changes a glitch added the wheel to my weapon swap button (my controller has been remapped a lot). I thought it was great initially as I had scored another button, by gaining essentially a hold and tap option... unfortunately everytime i swapped weapons I would say the last message repeatedly... but it got worse then the chat wheel blocked my entire cannon view screen when reloading lol.

    WOuld be great to have this properly added though
