There's plenty of times I'm trying to do tall tales or some other story quest where me and my crew have to go into a cave or some other area that isn't easy to run back to our boat and another crew just rolls up on us to destroy the boat because no one is on it just because we are trying to do a quest. Long boss battles like Capt. Briggsy that can take upwards of 100 cannonballs for an item to then lose that item because our boat was sunk since we ran out of supplies is really frustrating. Even just trying to do simple things like earning rep for Hunter's Call (Fishing/Cooking) is frustrating while you're being attacked. I just want to fish and not be bothered!
So as a solution, it would be nice to have a PvE or non-PvP servers even if it's locally hosted to be able to do quests and/or build rep with a reward penalty. Like 20-30% less xp, rep or money/doubloons for those of us who want a more relaxed experience with friends to have some fun and earn some rewards without the fear or stress of worrying about losing everything from 1 battle. AI controlled encounters like megs, ghost ships and the kraken can also have an increased chance of attacking on non PvP servers to make up for the lack of other players.
We have an Arena for hyper PvP kind of battles, it would be nice if we had the opposite too and had a relaxed server. Something like Atlas where there are PvP worlds and non PvP worlds. I feel that having a non PvP server with a reward penalty and higher PvE chance is pretty fair.
Also a non PvP server where we can invite friend crews to do something like the Flameheart’s Flagship event with all the ghost ships, the megalodon (when it first came out) or anything in the future where you need more then 1 crew to complete it would be a lovely edition to the game. I've seen streamers try to setup community events like races, obstacle courses, treasure hunt races and other events to bring in more people into the game and having a local or non PvP server would make doing that kind of stuff a lot easier too since you'll essentially have the world to yourself.
