After the events of The Shores of Gold, The pirate lord returned the Shroudbreaker to Captain Morrow for other pirates to use. One pirate, a worshiper of a Skeleton Lord only known as The Duke of the Shroud, attempted to steal the Shroudbreaker from Morrow. After i duel at the outpost, he succesfully took the Shroudbreaker and sailed off into the Shroud below the Ancient Islands. A month after disappearing, a ship emerged and crashed into Plunder Valley. The ship sank and no crew was found, aside from one skeleton captain, who closed himself in a small cave. Inside that cave he waits guarding The Shroudbreaker, however, only 3 stones remain in it. The 4th gem is somewhere in the shroud, dispelling the area below the Ancient Isles. What secrets hide in that mysterious land in the southern seas?
The Area
The Shrouded Sea is a Sea that still has the shroud lingering over it, but doesn't directly affect ships. There's a thin fog covering the area, and the seas are calm. The place may seem peaceful but that's all but true. On top of normal threats, such as Skeleton Ships, Megalodons, and Krakens, a new threat arises here. The Shroud Beast. A large Sea Monster with a long neck, large fins, and long, sharp fangs. I will go more in depth on this beast below. The islands of this sea have little wild life, however pigs, chickens, and snake still inhabit them. The water isn't completely red, however it has a red tint to it. Ghost Ships may also be found drifting through the seas, similar to Skeleton Ships. If the player chooses to attack them, an entire Armada will be summoned to fight the player. The size of the Armada is determined by the players ship size.
The Islands
The Islands of the Shrouded Seas are barren and littered with ship wrecks. The Shrouded Seas are home to 12 Islands, including 1 outpost, 2 sea posts, and 1 fort.
Shrouded Spoils Outpost
The only outpost on the Shrouded Seas, Shrouded Spoils Outpost is the same as your everyday Outpost. One extra thing this Outpost is home too is a small shack on the shore. Inside this shack is a half skeleton person named Carl the Castaway. Talking to him reveals he was a crew member of the Flying Stormfish, a ship that sailed into the Shroud and was never seen again. Another difference is Duke isn’t present at this Outpost. Talking to him at other Outposts reveals that he wouldn’t dare go anywhere near the Shroud, not after he heard story’s of other Bilge Rats trying to play chicken by sailing in and out of the Shroud. This Outpost is home to the a new Bilge Rat representative named Mike. Mike is a newbie to the Bilge Rats and knows very little about the Sea of Thieves. Over the course of updates he’ll learn new things and talk about his experiences on the Seas. This Outpost is also home to Hue the Hoarder, a Gold Hoarder who thinks Rathbone will come sailing to the Outpost to personally promote him to leader of the Gold Hoarders, Oli of the Order, an Order of Souls member who is deathly afraid of ghosts, but is fine with Skeletons, May the Merchant, a Merchant Alliance Member who hates their job and wants to become a Reaper Emissary, Tali the Tavernkeep, a Tavernkeep who wants to hunt Skeleton Lords, Sue the Shipwright, a Shipwright who wants to build a flying rowboat, Eris of the Emporium, a Pirate Emporium member who’s a former Grand Marnintine Union member, Taren the Toolsmith, a Equipment Store employee who thinks a double blades shovel is a good idea, Wando the Weaponsmith, a Weapon Store Employee who doubles as a pyromaniac, and Charles the Clothier, a Clothing Store Employee who thinks no one can hear him and talks about all the crimes he’s committed.
Misty Maws Seapost
One of the 2 Seaposts in the region, Misty Maws Seapost is home to Scott of Misty Maws Seapost, and claims to of see the Shrouded Ghost, and set up a Seapost in the Shrouded Seas to lure the Shrouded Ghost to him.
Bryan’s Bazaar
The other Seapost of the region, Bryan’s Bazaar is home to Bryan of Bryan’s Bazaar, a man who claims Brian stole his idea to open a shop called Brian’s Bazaar.
Flames End Fort
Assuming this would be added after Flamehearts defeat, this Fort is newly built and was made in memory of him and his reign. This is revealed in a journal written by a Skeleton Lord hidden on the Fort.
Alas this is a work in progress, I just wanted to get the general idea out there. I'll be updating this over time. Hope you enjoy!
