Option for solo players want a relaxing session

But why not bring out a solo players mode for the sloop, so that people can play by themselves but if people do end up attacking you, you might actually stand a fighting chance if they want to contest you for your loot. Because if you just want a calm session of pirating, you literally can’t have that, either you (being a solo) get attacked by a 2 man sloop or any boat higher, you don’t stand an actual chance. Heck, you could even add a disclaimer that says, “When joining this mode, then amount of gold you achieve from chests and items are decreased” (maybe even add a title “coward” just for the sake of it) and then decrease the gold by maybe 25% of the full price.

I personally wouldn't mind if they added a solo mode, but I don't think the developers will add it. Mostly because they have given you plenty of resources and tools to help you find players to play with, so you don't have to play solo.

    (1) You can do open crew. While not recommended it will avoid the solo problem.

    (2) Join the SOT discord. It has over 150,000 players and there are always tons of people looking to join a crew.

    (3) Xbox LFG. The xbox isn't as popular as the discord, but there are normally around 200 players looking for people to play with at a given time.

While I would like a solo mode, the developers never intended this game to be for solos. It was made to play with friends and to play with other people, they added the solo mode as an option, but it's more like choosing the hard difficulty on a game.

  • You will soon be able to play all by yourself in private servers soon, with 100% loot and rep decrease. Have fun!

This is a multiplayer cooperative focused crew on crew game where you play with and against others. If you choose to isolate yourself from the crew experience don't expect to be given an easier time, it is more difficult. Additionally your notion that you stand no chance at all is false. I for one fight even when solo and can come on top, it is more difficult and challenging. A single mistake can mean the end and a loss. Yet what do you expect if you are a pirate that doesn't have a crew. The solo captain experience is for the stubborn sea dogs that are seeking a challenge.

Want a nice relaxing time on the seas, either improve your own abilities, learn from your mistakes and experiences or crew up and get some backup. More hands make it easier, being a single pair of hands makes it more difficult.

    you opted for solo/hardmode

    your options are this

find a crew and play with an advantage of added manpower

play solo and be at a disadvantage over manpower

i do solo slooping from time to time when none of my friends are available

i stand a fighting chance i've sunk galleons brigs and sloops

tbh its all up to your induvidual skill and timing

what should you focus on when soloing

    my priorities are these

number one the most important priority LADDERS

someone gets on my ship they will hinder me from doing cannons repairs and sailing

    2 sailing

make sure your ship is going in the right direction and not hit a rock or their ship and positioning is a sloops advantage you can turn and position yourself faster and better than any ship in the game make good use of it

    3 cannons shoot duh

    4 bucket

the sloop takes longer to sink so you don't have to repair everyhole just pop down to bucket once or twice every few minutes (important: make sure to count every cannon hit you take i start to repair a hole or two after 10 hits)

5 repair as stated above sloops are tanky they take on water slowly count every hit your ship takes and repair bit by bit make use of the sloops tanky hull don't repair as soon as your ship takes a hit you'd be wasting time

  • @AcidZombie101 Get this notion out of your head that you don't stand a chance. If you play smart, you can beat a fully-crewed galleon, even solo. I do it all of the time! It just takes a bit of practice, and foresight. 😉

I don't play to earn something, just for fun, is amazing game. But with private server, we will be not able to meet friendlu players :( Sometime, if we take time to don't fire, we can meet amazing people :D

    Try Atlas.
They fixed the console lag and for an early access game its decent.
You can even build your own ship from scratch and hire an npc crew!

Thats probably a better solution than changing this game.

    a calm session of pirating,

    Calm. Pirating.
Those two words don't go together.

simple - because the game very much needs the uncertainity about other players.
If you split it up, the Adventure mode would become a pure PvP DM mode with every other ship beeing hostile.

But we want to met passives and friendlies and hostile players and dont konw what kind of crew they are!

  • Option for solo players want a relaxing session

How about those kinds of players find a game that is intended to be relaxing rather then convert a game that isn't?

How is the seas not relaxing... might just be me, but I have no issues with achieving a relaxing session to the extremes of becoming bored. Especially when solo as nobody is bothered by my actions or course on the seas.

While the game can have its lul in moments, I wouldn't classify it as relaxing. It has peaks of tense moments when fights do occur and also that paranoia of keeping tabs on player ships. For me a game that would be considered relaxing is when it is devoid of most of that with pretty much at will pausing and stoping of play.

To each there own though, plenty can find even tense games relaxing. I think it comes down to when you just don't care about stakes is when this game gets relaxing.

  • Open crew is really hit and miss, probably mostly miss. Kids, mouthbreathers with open mics, full blown trolls that just firebomb your own ship, etc.
Otherwise the fact that the game gives you no option to take breaks for anything more than 5 minutes is something of a problem as well, both for solo and team play. Then there's the length of time required to do basically anything, what you hope is a short session can take hours if spawns become troublesome, or some idiot wants to pvp harass without actually being able to sink you.
I get the impression that while the mechanics of the game are sound, the devs actively want the game to be a negative experience.

  • Isn't there already a solo mode? It's called "The maiden Voyage"

  • I have peaceful expeditions all the time. Just play in the wee hours of the morning.
And @Nabberwar why should I go play something different. This game is amazing. There are parts I don't like, but don't drown someone out who wants a different experience.

Just join an alliance server to get that almost complete PvE experience with no gold decrease.
Well, if you really want to get 3M gold in like only one day. I'd understand if you say that this defeats the purpose of playing the game.

There you go. People should learn to enjoy peace and calm while it lasts, and accept that it can't always be peaceful either.

He's entirely right though, people who don't enjoy the game for what it is and who beg the devs to change it in a way that would end up impacting everyone just for them, can find something that suits them better instead.

I've played games that had elements I wasn't too crazy about. I would either learn to deal with those elements, or move on if they were too much and spoiled the game for me. Not in a million years would I have thought to harass their devs to bend and reshape their games for my sake.
