A Sloop versus Flameheart

  • Last night was amazing!

Yesterday, our sloop crew (my friend and I) decided to try out this new event. We just started 2 weeks ago, and it was midnight but it was more of a "why not" than a decision on our part.

As we started the first wave seemed very easy. We were communicating a lot. I was in the cannons he was driving, when we got hit one of us went to repair and the other took his duties.

Then we got dangerously low on supplies, fortunately, I saw a youtube video saying that some of them dropped supplies, we saw some and picked it up and now we were packed. Ready for the second wave.

As we killed the first flagship as we got the loot we started to get cocky and made our mistake. We took two flagships at the same time and got bombarded, both of us needed to go repair, and no one was driving(!) conclusion we crashed into the island and sunk.

But what about our loot? we didn't want to lose it! We had a row bot so one of us (me) stayed behind and collected it onto the rowboat, (there were a lot of chests!)

Did I mention there was a storm? There was a storm! And we were still in the middle of 2 flagships that were circling our crash site like two noobs battling over a castaway chest.

I don't remember much on that part I think I entered autopilot as I got to pick chests, go into the rowboat and dropped them.

As my friend returned with the ship we started getting bombarded again. And I couldn't find the pixel I needed to look at in my rowboat to enter oars, so I bailed on the rowboat and swam to our ship to help repair. Then we got hit by one of those screamer balls that pushed us right into a position where our rowboat got exactly where it needed to be to just click to pull it up!

We were in extasis! Keep in mind that until now we are yet to win any PVP match. We managed to sink some skellies but not much more, as we started to sail away (again with our loot in hand) our starting supplies after respawn started to get low. We still had the supplies we got before but they were mixed in the middle of all the chests in the rowboat. And that is when we entered hyper-productive mode where each of us was doing 2 (sometimes 3) jobs at once, firing cannons, repairing, driving, adjusting the sail, picking up loot drop by the ghost ships and picking up the loot of the rowboat into different zones of the sloop depending what they were. IN A STORM

When we finally managed to take a breath and the storm had passed the boat was fixed and all the loot was correctly separated we noticed that only flameheart himself was missing. There was a flagship loot waiting to be picked up in the left and Flameheart ship to the right. We had to make a decision. We chose Flameheart. We we started sailing near him my friend asked: "What about other players? Are we alone in the server?" and I just said "idk" and shrughed.

We killed flameheart, (pretty easy if the ship is alone) and the moment we picked up his last chest there was a server merger. We lost the last flagship loot, but we still had way more loot in our ship than we had ever seen. And that's when we started seeing players in the horizon.

Panicking we rushed to an outpost to sell! We crashed into the island but we didn't care (as soon as we repaired) and rushed into selling everything! We made like 50k from every loot we had and as soon as we sold everything another ship approached our little boat and seeing that we didn't have anything interesting let us go.

    Little did they know ...
