I have completed several Skelly fleets and sank several Skelly Galleons. Ever since the Haunted Shores update, (which I love BTW), a single Skelly Galleon seems to take well over 65 cannon balls to sink. I have been trying to help new players but we are getting sunk by the Lone Skelly Galleon. The same crew has taken out Flameheart but is getting sunk by a Skelly Galleon. I have played this game since day 1 but may quit if this is going to be the norm.
Skelly Galleon

The skeleton galleons will take a lot of time and resources to sink compared to the ghost galleons. The main strategy when fighting the skeleton galleons is to have somebody board the skeleton's boat, and have that person keep the skeletons from reparing. How the skeleton galleons work is the skeletons on the ship can't bail water, but they will repair. You can easily sink them with 6 cannonballs if you have someone on the skeleton ship stopping them from repairing.
@kaijoi I’d also highlight that you should shoot low. Had a discussion with some guy that apparently went through 300 cannonballs. However, when I sailed with him he was just hoping to hit the ship and a lot of shots went straight to the captain quarters, rendering no water getting in.
Simple concept but surprised some still don’t know it haha
