  • @triheadedmonkey Thanks, I will update the OP with that info too. I wasn't sure about Steam

  • @triheadedmonkey any reason why prices are differente on the microsoft store and Steam? If I buy on steam but change the xbox live login what account does it go to?
If I buy ingame on the emporium, wich shop will it open and price will I pay (MS or steam)?

You can't get the bundle above in the Emporium, that's why I posted it, for visibility.

The prices are set by the platforms. It's cheaper on Steam unless you have Game Pass, in which case it's cheaper on the Microsoft Store.

If you buy on Steam, it will go to the MS account you have linked at the time.

  • What does one feed a solid gold cat?

  • @chronometria Attention, like all other cats! 😁

  • @triheadedmonkey I see, that I can afford! I wonder what their version of catnip is, maybe mermaid gems.

  • @chronometria yes....but ONLY Rubys!

This varies from region to region. Regular price is actually cheaper for me on Microsoft Store vs. Steam (Canada: 21.99 on MS, 23.99 on Steam) without the Game Pass discount.

If you have the game on both platforms you can game the stores a bit for the best deal. If one is cheaper than the other, you can buy from either store HOWEVER you must log in using that store's game client in order for the item to get credited to your account since this appears to be done at log in and not at time of purchase.

For example, I bought Ancient Coins on MS Store and played for a couple hours using Steam. The ancient coins did not load into my account even after rebooting the Steam game client. They did load immediately after I launched the MS Store client and were then visible in both MS and Steam versions. If you plan on making purchases from a store, you'll need to have that client installed in order to receive your purchase which might be a pain if you don't have the drive space for multiple installs.

Yeah, I wasn't 100% on how that all works. I had to uninstall the Steam version as I had issues with it and it kept auto-launching when I accepted invites. Doesn't seem to be working as intended though if it's not going to your linked account at purchase. If you link your accounts in the Game Bar rather than in SoT on Steam is that still the case?

Also, regarding the regional prices, I wasn't sure how to check the price on Steam in the US. It's very easy to do with the MS Store because it's just a simple URL tweak.

That I'm not sure about, but it definitely seems to load purchases into your account during the 'check' process after you click 'Start Game' from the main screen.

There are a few websites out there that will pull this info, like SteamDB - Sea of Thieves

Or you can install the Augmented Steam extension and get this info injected into the store page: https://es.isthereanydeal.com/
