Your Server Swapping Sucks!

  • My crew and I beat a Skelly Fort, another crew ambushed us, we stashed the key on a rock.

Sailed away, sunk the ship then got back grabbed the key, we were literally next to the fort when your stupid server swapping made us loose the entire fort’s treasure!!

Now we’re sitting here with a Fort Key and an open empty vault with NO Treasure!

This is total garbage, NEVER force ships to swap servers in the middle of a voyage, or event you waisted all our times @Rare.

  • @aaronblueeyes so this isn't really a problem...just go to the next active fort and open it with your key...kill all skellies except one, so there aren't more spawning and grab the loot...
Other crews who want to finish the fort won't be happy with you doing this, but who cares?

  • Yeah, that’s pretty much what we did, went to next active fort — but accidentally took out two whole waves because of all the powder-keg skellies then opened vault and took the most valuable loot.

But it’s still a pain to have to sail, then fight another fort just to reap the rewards you’ve already earned. Plus there’s more risk because the fort is active and other ships are more likely to arrive to battle that current fort.

  • @aaronblueeyes I'd say it's less risky, because when other ships come around, they think first you are running away and let them have the fort...but you already have the most valuable stuff...

  • I've only had a problem with this when attempting to go back and reclaim loot and sink the other player. I had this happen twice but once I new what was happening I quickly went oh well. Agreed it sucks but it could be worse and you lose the key and all progress period.

  • Server Swaps do kind of suck since the last change. I keep crashing into things because I'm stuck in "The world is changing...." screen.

    Not terrible, just annoying.

btw- You can use a Fort Key on any active Fort Vault. In fact, This is a really good tactic to use if there's other Ships "sniffing" about.

  • That’s what we did, if you read the thread before responding.

I would think the skull would go away once you open the door no? What happens when someone else decides to raid the island, destroy the boss, but there’s no loot to be found

  • @aaronblueeyes the merge happens if you are the last ship on server. Regardless of what you are doing

  • @schwammlgott Does Rare pay you to defend their [mod edit] servers? You provided no solution to the question and what you said doesn't always work and players shouldn't have to go through that. That's the point you obviously don't get.
