Hi everyone, I'm hoping some of you might be able to help me out.
I love this game, I've played it to pieces, but unfortunately I get light triggered migraines and SoT triggers them like no other game.
Nighttime is so dark that I can't see anything and it strains my eyes. While day time, particularly sailing towards the sun (don't even need to be looking at it) is so bright it physically hurts. To see anything at night I had to turn my monitor brightness right up but then during the day I had to turn it back down because it was way too bright (even with it all the way down it's still quite bright in come cases).
On top of that the glare off of everything is a nightmare. I can't even use certain lanterns because of the light shining out the back. And don't even get me started on the gems while you're holding them..
It got to the point earlier this year that I had to give up playing because SoT was triggering the migraines more and more. I tried adjusting settings in varying combinations but nothing seemed to get rid of the glare from surfaces and gems.
I'm looking for suggestions of settings to try (both in game and out) so that the nighttime isn't completely dark and the daytime doesn't have so much glare. I know that in game there aren't many settings with regard to lighting but maybe there's something I can do out of game?
I'm not overly technically minded so suggestions of any settings I can tweak with my graphics card or monitor are welcome.
GPU: GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER
Monitor: Viewsonic (VX2758-2KP-MHD) 27 IPS 1ms 144Hz
Thank you!
