A couple friends of mine decided to give this game a go this evening. We did the tutorial, found a voyage to do, but we keep getting killed by I think other players. First we got killed no more than a minute after leaving the starting outpost. Then we finally get back to the island with our treasure map and get killed. Come back, get our treasure, and go back to the outpost just to get killed again. Everything we had is gone now. So is this the actual game or am I missing something? New players get matched up with veterans and they can just keep you from progressing?
Help?? Just started, keep getting killed by real players?? Maybe??
@byjaxx7733 New players do get matched up against veterans in both Adventure and Arena mode. Since you have done the tutorial, know that there are about 5-7 other ships out on the seas. It maybe very crowded depending on if you play on PC or Xbox. The first thing i would do would be to pay attention to your surroundings. Learn to look for ships and make sure you either sail with the wind if possible or sail into the wind with your sails facing it (dummy sail). You should avoid as many ships as possible until you are comfortable playing. Remember, if you can see them, they can see you.
@nightmare247365 Thanks for the reply. I wasn't aware this game was 100% PvP. We just wanted to sail around and have a good time. I thought this was just a chill game if you wanted it to be. Again, thank you.

Says in game description you will encounter other players in a shared world. It’s a pirate game. Thus you will be doing pvpGot to do some research on your part before jumping into the depths. Some YouTube videos perhaps n

The ship maximum is 6 ships per server, so there are 1-5 other ships around
Oooh that sucks.
You can get lucky with quieter servers to play on but there will always be other players and bullies out to get your stuff. I find after 10pm EST (I'm in Florida) it quiets down and gets more chill. Not a guarantee, but usually. How many of you are playing? If only 2 or 3 consider an LFG post to find a more experienced player to kind of guide you a little. You can also check out the emissary tables by the main factions to see how many ships are on the server...if anyone is doing emissary work lol.
Don't let them get you down. I'm sure the usual tips will flow in. Gitting Gud will come with time.
