GIVE WOMEN REAL LEGS!!!!!

  • I am a female gamer and have played the game for two years now and love the game. I was thrilled when they started to introduce new female bottoms... then I bought them. Every female bottom the proportions are off and now that costumes are becoming a bigger item in the game they too have the wrong proportions. I have stick legs if I wear them.... somehow my arms are twice the size of my legs? So I end up usually wearing male pants just so that the proportions match my character model. Why on earth are the women's legs so significantly smaller to the point of twig, anorexic style. This not only sends an unfair reflection of a woman's ideal body but just plain looks stupid. Fix it Rare... I'm sure there are women who love being as skinny as possible on the seas but I'm not one I'd prefer my character to look like a real human please!

Leg size should be based on your character model anyway not your clothes... but yeah just paid money for the new costume because as I said before I love and support the game and got super frustrated to again see the same body proportion mistakes continue if you're a female.

My pirate legend has sailed a long time, fought and earned the right to have real thighs and calves. Take a serious look at this because it honestly has started to feel slightly sexist that women should have tiny toothpick legs... I don't know if anyone else has complained about this but this is my first time going to the site to complain because it's just become so frustrating.

**** UPDATE SINCE POSTING******: Since a lot of guys have posted comments about the lack of relevance/importance of this post perhaps I shouldn't have named my post to be specific to women. (also if you're a male character criticizing I encourage you to buy one female bottom and see the difference in your own player model bottom when you wear it). So let's drop the women part and just have the argument be "Costumes/Clothes shouldn't change the size of your player model" If I had picked a big character I'd expect to constantly have big legs same for small medium etc.

  • @evilpicklezz Yee arms be that big from lifting all that
    gold!

  • I dont know, but this post seems very..... needy? Have you realised that ALL characters have rather thin legs? Shush and deal, I say.

  • Ya what's up with this rare? The costume changes your leg proportions, so that the knees ankles are very off looking. No reason for a pay costume to change your character model like that, not when it costs $12

  • @DiabeuZPiekla Please refrain from derogatory language on our forums. It is a violation of our forum rules, and your post has been removed accordingly.

Be courteous. Don’t insult players you don’t know. If humour is the intent, remember that this can be lost or misinterpreted online, and words can very easily offend. Be mindful of what you’re saying and if someone asks a question, see if you can help them out as you’d appreciate being helped out yourself if the roles were reversed.

  • @klutchxking518 Lol I haven't noticed that every model has skinny legs. My point was more that why is my character model normal proportioned in men's clothes but not the womens? and my model literally changes sizes on clothes. That's more the point. Like I said this was my first time even posting feedback and only did it because it's been so long unfixed. (If I had picked a player model that had skinny legs to begin with this would indeed be something I'd shush and deal about but I didn't) But thanks for your opinion

My point was more that why is my character model normal proportioned in men's clothes but not the womens?

This is the description you put forth in your opening,

I have stick legs if I wear them.... somehow my arms are twice the size of my legs?

In what realm does this sound like proper male proportions? Last time I checked the average man doesn't have overly thin legs and arm proportions found only on the Discovery Channel. I have a male character, but I wear female clothing, I've had women in my crew refer to my legs as "Chicken Legs." I don't think this is sexist in the sense that both parties are getting incorrect proportions, odd proportions tend to come with the territory of cartoon-ish graphics.

Am I going to tell Rare to not correct proportions? No, but I don't really find it an issue that demands the expending of resources to fix. I think there is already a list of things that need to be fixed before they even remotely touch this.

  • @nabberwar I agree that this is an issue that is not major in any way to the game and probably will not be fixed anytime soon, and that I'm in the minority of minorities (I think some female gamers may even want those proportions, and that's what I was kinda looking for posting was to see if I was the only one bothered by it).

Regarding the male proportions you misread what I wrote very badly :P and I clearly said in your second "quote" that those were in regards female bottoms I didn't say male proportions were to have small legs big arms. Sorry you misunderstood (or I wasn't clear enough). As you said your male only had those proportions wearing the female bottoms.

Feel like I'm in a lone boat here and maybe so but that's why the forum is here to express thoughts so there was mine! Thanks for your thoughts.

  • @evilpicklezz I haven't really noticed this myself as I wasn't really looking for it. But no costume or article of clothing should change the dementions of you characters body. If that is happening it should be fixed.
