Okay bit of a rant because I'm getting fed of people pretending to be friendly. I get it we're all pirates here trust no one and all but honestly I'm getting sick and tired of people pretending to be friendly then trying to attack. I would like to see the way you lower an alliance 2 way. Both parties have to agree to end the alliance.
Alliance flags.
@gentle-massacre
What "good" would that do ?
Being in an alliance won't stop a crew from firing at you or your ship.Also, no - so you're in an alliance but want out ( cause the other ones are after you, your treasure &c), but you can't because they won't take down their alliance flag - until you switch server your "allied enemies" will be able to see your ship on the map. Is that what you want ? My guess is no.
@lem0n-curry I've always played this game in the hope to meet fun friendly people as well as just sailing around. I agree it would suck. I'm just sick of being shot at when I have no loot on my boat. If I wanted to fight people I'd play arena. This game becomes less fun every time I spend half hour getting resources and getting to an island just to be shot down for nothing

Half an hour ? Three runs around the outpost suffice IMHO.
There are other crews on the server you're on, it seems that you hang around on the same place for far too long.
Also, if you spend half an hour on outpost, the amount of supplies you have would be great for stealing - balls, planks and fruit are more worth than a castaway or a villainous skull...Besides, Arena is not the only place for PvP; the game started as Adventure only and that was and still is a PvPvE.
@gentle-massacre You accepted the risk of the other pirates either being friendly or tricksy when you accepted the alliance. If you leave the alliance, then the other alliance members won't be able to see you on the map, rez you, or cash in and give you extra gold. Next time, play it safe and leave the rainbow flag up.
@gentle-massacre that is the whole point of alliances. They are supposed to be shaky at best. While you can find people with good intentions, the main idea is be prepared for them to turn on you at a flip of a dime. You have to get them before they get you.
Just dont do alliances. I cant stand them. I remember when they first came out, we were forced to be in them for certain events/commendations. We got lucky with one player who was real cool but everyone else was an idiot. I still think for certain commendations alliance is sill needed well I say no thank you. Actually that is one thing I do not understand is Rare trying to force the alliance thing. Why? This is Sea of Thieves not Sea of Friends, Rare!
If you really want to be in an alliance then set your rules. You tell them to stay away from you and if they come within cannon range fire those babies up and let em have it.
